I think he meant that an Egyptian wife wouldn't disrespect him in public like that, not that she would allow him to put his hands on her lol then again, idk Egyptian culture but I feel like arguing as they were, in public, is frowned upon in any culture - at least as grown adults anyway 😅 both of them are extremely immature and can't take accountability for their own actions so they're each perpetual victims in the relationship. I'm sure that Nicole does things intentionally to get a rise out of mahmoud out of spite, then acts shocked when he reacts, and mahmoud is too immature and selfish to have empathy or compromise. They're both equally toxic and dumb.

The reason you wear a surf suit is because you are surfing in cold water. If you're going to a warm beach, having a scuba suit on isn't nearly as comfortable.
@boisteranto9275 Жыл бұрын
the point isn’t comfort, it’s the source of her insecurities. these burkinis literally feel comfortable as hell. if you don’t feel comfortable without wearing revealing clothes, then maybe your insecurities stem from the fact that you dress as a means of pleasing others and how attractive they see you. if that’s not the case here, then it’s more about her freedom being restricted by her husband, which is a very valid reason and a big indicator that they never should’ve married in the first place. otherwise she really has to reflect on her relationship with how others see her and how much it reflects on her self-worth. this is coming from an ex-hijabi that realised that dressing modestly wasn’t for me bc i needed that validation to feel better about my image. it’s a very negative and toxic mentality, i know, and is probably what nicole is going through.
@KaliKali-hv9bt Жыл бұрын
@@boisteranto9275 very interesting perspectives ❤
@myqueerplantfamily Жыл бұрын
@@boisteranto9275 I’m pretty neutral about my body. I don’t see wearing less clothing (or no clothing even) as being revealing or pleasing others. It’s just my body in a natural state that’s comfortable for the environment. Sometimes at the beach I want coverage from the sun, but other times I want to enjoy the sun on my skin. Everyone has different preferences and that’s totally fine - but clearly going to be a major source of conflict for them. I think if either of them had paused to think this marriage through before getting married they would’ve realized how bad an idea this was. I’ve wondered if they did the show because they knew it was going to go south anyways and they figured they might get a little fame out of the drama.
@boisteranto9275 Жыл бұрын
@@myqueerplantfamily lol my mind completely overlooked the environment tbh cause even if you’re not intentionally ‘dressing modestly’ in the ME, you’re probably still covering up bc of a lot of reasons: • fitting into to societal standards of ‘respect’ (even though i personally don’t see how other muslims see revealing clothes as disrespectful outside of a mosque/religious context) • protection from the sun bc a little bit of sweat is worth it to prevent skin cancer vs sun-screening every single part you expose. even labourers and farmers cover up to protect themselves and we have a big culture of this (see: kufiyas, eye kohl) • AC!!!!!!! we overcompensate for the heat outside with the coldest air conditioning on the planet so you’re probably dressing for a blizzard

So TLC had her go back to Egypt just for the show. I have no doubt in the end, she'll return to the US. Or, like myself, I'm an old grandma and love swimming, but trust me, no one wants to see my wrinkly old arse on the beach, so I'm seriously thinking of one of these more stylish burkinis, no head or hair covering though.
