I'm from SE TX and I'm a Texas born cajun and I was 10 in 1985. Everytime I went with my dad to his KC Hall, my older brother and I would play pool with the other kids of the Knights, and I would always choose this song on the jukebox. This song brings back great memories. (FYI Knights of Columbus is a religious fraternal organization).

While working with a lot of Cajuns in Louisiana, building oil rigs off-shore in the Gulf of Mexico, we were eating breakfast together on a spud barge when this song came on over the radio. It was the very first time any of us had ever heard it, we thought what the hell is this, laughed, and the Cajun cook turned it up; all of us immediately loved this song. I was in France a few months after hearing this song for the first time in Louisiana, and they were also playing this song there!

I used to watch Ralph Emery's show named Pop Goes the Country many moons ago. I really respected him. He would give a lot of folks TV exposure. I never saw Rockin Sidney, before this clip, no heard his original version of this song. Thanks Kayodleman for the upload. It was a real blast to watch this. I like Zydeco music, it's happy and infectious. I saw Hoyt Axton there, but was that Janie Fricke also on the couch?
