Thanks for the info. All this time I thought this was Buckwheat Zydeco. Apparently everyone else thought so too. None of my "musical expert friends" ever brought this to my attention.

It is Buckwheat Zydeco. Covering a Rockin’ Sidney song

Yes. This is Buckwheat Zydeco. I grew up listening to it. It has been "my song" since I was very little. I was grown before I knew anyone else sang it.

Buckwheat did Toot Toot long ago. It's I heard him do it in concert years ago and it's also here on KZbin. John Fogerty does a killer version too. Everyone makes mistakes, credit has been given and now people will look for Rockin' Sydney as well as Buckwheat. :)

Don't really care who did it first and seriously do not care who Sydney is. This is the one from my childhood. 40 years I've been called TootToot. No one else is still living that remembers. No one gives a rip that Dolly Parton did I Will Always Love You before Whitney. Dolly does it better because she has a story and purpose behind the writing. But people prefer Whitney because she is loud.

@ladolcevita60707 Some expert friends you have. I'm from Norway and even I knew that this is Rockin Sidney (Sidney Simien). The single was released on the Epic label in 1984 and it was a hit for him and stayed on Billboard's Hot Country Singles for weeks in 1985 I believe. I don't remember it's peak position though. It's such a great song and you could buy t-shirts and underwear with My Toot-Toot printed on.

Why make a tribute to Buckwheat and use Rockin' Sydney's song and Rockin' Sydney's recording? I don't even know if Buckwheat recorded a cover version of this. You do realize that that man on the screen is not the one singing and playing. It's misleading and not fair to Buckwheat nor the late Rockin' Sydney. At the end you say thanks for listening to Buckwheat Zydeco...completely FALSE. This is Rockin' Sydney! Oh...and Buckwheat (Stanley Dural) is still alive!
