I've got an Aiyima T9, on your recommendation, pushing a pair of Emotiva B2+'s for about 5 weeks now. No issues at all with the T9, especially for a computer/desktop setup it's killer. It really sounds clean, small, and easy to use. I can't say about the lottery this one may have, but for me, so far I can recommend it. Thanks for the rec's sir!

I have the Douk Audio version (its identical except for the name) of this amp and it really sounds awesome. Tons of features for the price. The two minor issues are the shutoff timeout for no sound is short (2-3 seconds) and the input control is sensitive to my tv remote on/off. I'm using the RCA in for phono input and the optical in from my TV optical out for smart TV capability and for Blu-ray through the TV for video and CDs.

Yep! Totally agree on the S.M.S.L DA-9. I bought it after seeing your review, ( thanks by the way ), hooked up to a pair of Elac's the sound is awesome. Very revealing, you get to hear everything, warts an all. All served up by the Wiim mini, another of your recommendations. I doubt if it could be bettered.😁

Bought the T9. The switching sounds are all internal, nothing that will damage speakers. It does sleep pretty quickly, but oh well. It fades in on start up. There is a few hour “burn in” period. I rolled the tubes (JAN GE5654w), and it sounds brilliant! Had to change from Elac ub5 to more efficient Advent Legacy III.

I agree with the D03 - a great full-featured option - add a WiiM Mini, speakers and you’re set. I like the Arylic A50 too - and it includes a great streaming platform. (I think it’s the same as the WiiM)

My favorite is the Fosi Audio T20. Not sure the tubes are buffer in it as changing them out actually changed the sound and depth. If you plan on doing a micro preamp video, I recommend trying out the DOUK Audio P2 preamp. Has a remote, so you can control the volume. I think you would like it a lot with some of the amps you have that would need a preamp for.

I actually paused the video to grab a cup of coffee and really enjoyed it, thanks! Question, as I'm not sure what's best here: For a multiroom system with built-in speakers, and the systems hidden out of sight, what would you get: - One of these amps, with a streamer (e.g. Audio Pro link 2) for each zone - A SVS Prime Wireless (Pro) Soundbase for each zone

Great timing on the subject for me and Thanks for all you do! !! I have an older pioneer sc-65. I recently acquired the pioneer lx305 due to all the reviews. Although I love the new atmos, 5.1.4, ease of use to hook up phone, dnla, amazon music. I A/B testest it against the sc-65....AND to my surprise, the lx305 seemed to tame/close the sonic range of two different stereo speakers (old mirage and the new Wharfedale diamond 12.3). So now I'm considering either returning the lx305 and getting a cheaper $500ish receiver for the 5.1.x and ease of streaming or keeping the lx305 and trying the pre-amp out and an amplifier. Since you compared the KLH model five and preferred other avr/amps over the lx305...Which of the amps do you think I may enjoy improving over the older sc-65?

Picked up the Fosi TB10D so I can take my Kenwood receiver out of service with an eye to recapping it. Tested it out on a pair of Infinity 2000.2 that I got off marketplace, 8 ohms 6" woofers &1" soft dome. Dang it, it sounds pretty good at robust sound levels. Played a Rush "Working Men" disc all the way through and the little thing didn't even get warm. Guess I'll have to back down a bit on my "Class A-B Transistor Amps Uber Alles" theory. Cheers.

Please share this with your subscribers: I attempted to use the T9 for computer gaming. The amp is always turning off due to lack of signal, and the time to re-activate has me completely missing sounds when gaming. I think this is a deliberate power / tube saving feature but It is a complete showstopper for non-streaming usage. My Gaming Machine has support for 7.1 and 3 separate Amps can be a sufficient, (for 5.1, need 4 for 7.1). This can be a great alternative to using powered speakers, enabling you to use the wonderful variety of passive speakers available. Nothing will change how missing sounds in gaming is a showstopper. I don't know if I have any solution except for returning them in favor of amps that will stay on. I have emailed them at support, but I doubt there will be a solution. They sound great when they stay on.

I’ve spent too much on audio lately and I blame cheapaudioman. My audio equipment disappeared while my house was being repaired from an oak tree coming through the roof and I had decided to just leave it. Then I started watching this channel. I now have a cheap system and am thinking about more :(. I got the Sony SSCS’s on prime day sale, Aiyima A07, and the $10 Apple DAC. Super cheap but really nice sound for the money. Going to plug in a cheaper sub that escaped being disappeared once i find the power supply but I am feeling the urge to upgrade. Sigh.

I watch a lot of your videos about cheap amps. Such videos are entertaining and informative; however, the performance of the amps you review are dependent on upgrading the power supply. Given this, it would be very helpful if you could also recommend a specific upgraded power supply with your video, including a link to where your viewers may purchase the upgraded power supply. I, like many of your other viewers am not very technically inclined; providing information about your recommended power supply for the amps you review would be appreciated by us. If you want something more traditional, the Yamaha R-S202 is a great, inexpensive (but not cheap) 2 ch receiver/amp. You get a remote, tone control, 4 RCA inputs, Bluetooth, and a headphone out. I still listen to terrestrial radio so the tuner is a plus. You don't get a phono preamp, but that didn't matter to me as my Fluance has its own. They're a great value for $199 from many vendors. It's a fantastic deal at accessories4less at $130 (renewed) which is where I bought mine. (I hope it's ok to mention?)

Yes, the Yamaha R-S202 and Sony STRDH190 2-ch Home Stereo Receiver with Phono Inputs & Bluetooth should be considered. The Sony is often on sale at Amazon for $148 (but $198 now). These are Class AB and likely sound better than most of the low-cost Class D amps. The speaker terminals are those old cheapie kind from 1990s receivers so that is a downside, but they work just fine. Both of these components are more suited to "real" room systems instead of desktop audio, but as an entry point into good audio, they offer a lot.

Just picked up a Yamaha R-S202 for a good price at accessoriesforless (factory refurb) with a year warranty. My old Pioneer AVR I used in the bedroom had the right channel go out and sadly not worth fixing. Considering it was hit by lightning a few years ago (which fried all the HDMI inputs) it is a wonder it lasted this long. But man, after getting used to hearing music before going to sleep, I needed something. I hope the Yamaha will be fine for that. I wish it had a built-in DAC but I'll eventually buy a cheap DAC (another Schitt Modi maybe) and feed the WiiM Mini into it and then into the Yamaha. Love that the Yamaha has a REC OUT set of RCAs too on Line 3. I can connect one of my cassette decks to it.

I'm hesitant to upgrade my $80 Fosi BT30D for my desktop. I want to stick to class D because of the heat and size constraints, and since I'm listening near-field, I'm not sure there would really be any benefit if I got something like a DA-9. I inherited a bunch of vintage stuff from a relative. And I have some really nice, in-good-shape Sansui SP-3000 speakers and a fairly nice turntable and I just want an amp that’ll be good for listening to my records leisurely. Nothing too crazy (I have a wife and a toddler so it’s never gonna be like a Who concert in here), but just a solid amp that’ll work well with these old speakers, on a blue collar, Midwest factory workers’ budget. Haha, any suggestion would help! Thanks brother!

I've been really happy with my A07 for the last few months but unfortunately, it started making static noise in my left channel over the last couple days. Looking online, it looks like this has been an issue for at least a couple people online, so right now I'm not sure if I want to use my refund to get another A07 and hope for the best or switch to something else

Look up old Sony's A/V switchers on eBay, they have RCAs for audio and composite for video (no longer used after HDMI took over...). Just use the audio part, I have two of them, they are passive and they work great.

The Cambridge AXA 25 has 5 inputs, looks great and sells for $299.00 and, if willing to spend an extra $100 the AXA 35 could be another good choice.
@NeilBlanchard
@NeilBlanchard Жыл бұрын
Right - the AXA35 has the awesome TI LM3886 output chips and it is a wonderful Class A/B integrated amp. It has a phono input, 4 RCA line level inputs on the back, and a 3.5mm input on the front panel. It has a 1/4" (6.35mm) headphone jack, and a remote, too. Really punchy and clear bottom to top, and a great value at $399.

@@davidcarr2216 Right - I think the AXA35 is good enough to be part of a truly excellent system - way more than "just" a budget system. It is a similar to the Geshelli J2 AKM DAC in this regard - low enough cost to be in a ~$1000 system AND in an "end game" system.

@@NeilBlanchard I wish I wasn't a sucker for vintage Pioneers receivers, I just got back from service an SX 780 in excellent conditions, looks and sounds great, at least to me. It that wasn't the case the AXA35 would be powering my vinyl corner with no issues.

I tried the Aiyima A07 on some old B&W speakers, and I didn't really like how it sounded. I guess I prefer the warmer sound from the old Denon AVR reciver I've been using forever. I've been running the speakers bi-amped with the front and surround outputs separately powering the speaker separately. It has lots of power, and seems very clean and clear and punchy to me. Maybe I don't know what I'm missing.. Been thinking of trying out a newer amp, but I really wonder if I should bother, I mean I like the sound of what I have. I guess if my 23 year old receiver dies, I will have no choice.. but until then, I probably should save my money!

Matt I’m assuming that’s a swipe at me. May be hard for people to believe but aiyima has never sponsored the channel. Or SMSL or anyone. The A30 Uses the Infineon chip and I don’t think it was implemented as well and it doesn’t sound as natural as the other amps I mention. I don’t get paid for reviews. If a company sponsors me I disclose it. And there has only been one audio company sponsor me and that’s the WIIM streamer. Others may get paid. I do not. Choose to believe me or don’t. But I sleep just fine at night

No toroidal on the A2m. That was one of the changes from the A-100. I bought two a-100s a few years ago for less-than $200 each. I had purchased the first one, which earned something like $35 credit toward my next purchase, so I bought another. I like them, but the jump to $350 for the new model is a bit hard to accept.
