86db efficient. Its getting to be a pain to pair something with the audiolab 6000a

I'm happy for you. I'm going to stick with my dad's old sony tc-d5 pro ii, walkman, or my vintage boom boxes. Seems like any of the older options would have less tape hiss.

unfortunately, those speakers are made in China as may brands do so, like my dali oberon 1!

Audiophiles are STUPIDLY pedantic to the point they forget how to enjoy music with the heart rather than enjoy music only with your ears.

You got crap for the player, yet whole video you only talk about cassettes.

I use it directly on my Sony CDP 991 cd player with Denon Ah-D 7200 headphones. Sounds amazing. No other amp is build like this. Loudness + deep bass. Perfect.

The fact that people can get so argumentative about a cassette player is insane.
as a Gen z, I grew up with CDs. When I think back, yeah getting an MP3 was popular of course, but CDs were stiil useful, especially for both Ripping or Car use

Meh. I mean, I literally install operating systems for fun sometimes. I've got computers just sitting around doing nothing. I've got a rack of servers. And I really, really, really hate paying for subscriptions, so this is RIGHT OUT.

Im pretty sure it was your title if actually curious. Cassettes are fun for discovery but as someone who lived through them they are certainly not the future. I've literally melted multiple copies of the same casette from normal play and there is enough plastic trash in the world. The idea you said casette is future of high fidelity and now act shocked to the response is genuinely goblin energy.

Been running Roon for years on a QNAP NAS. Love Roon software. The NAS kept breaking (hardware & software) down, so I was always frustrated. I couldn’t afford a Nucleus so I bought a sonicTransporter i5 (Gen 3). An attractive alternative for running Roon. MUCH better than a QNAP NAS and way cheaper than a Roon Nucleus. It has better specs than the new overpriced Roon One and is therefore, a better value as a digital server.

My comp 15W JL audio, amp shattered glass, and made pebbles under the car dance. While Audiobaughn 2000W amp, on the same system, couldn't even upset the neighbor. Watt lies, ohm lies, rms lies...its all lies. Now...if i cant test with a voltmeter, and load bank, I wont buy em.

If I had the money, I would love a Roger W Smith watch. However, if I had enough for one of them, I could buy my dream system, including some Avantgarde speakers.

Great interview. Ken Kessler is a great reviewer/writer on watches and audiophile gear. There’s definitely a connection in the appreciation of both.

I have been wanting to get into Roon but it has become more and more expensive and now that Harmon has bought it…. It’s just going to be a another bluesound or Sonos, maybe a little more high end, featureful, and luxurious for audiophiles, but it’s going to become more closed and be proprietary and be expensive with audiophile pricing. Too bad. Really disappointed they got bought.

He is a joke… first, advance paris became mcintosh killer, now, 300$ yamaha is similar to advance paris. Which means u can buy 300$ mcintosh killer. In some restaurants, the singer performs songs which are ordered and paid by customers….

I love the idea of shifting your channels focus to telling stories and focusing on smaller companies. Spending money is voting for who you want to succeed in the market, and I think supporting companies who’s interest isn't focused on short term profits to the degree larger corporations/conglomerates likely are will only help consumers
