LOVE Port de Soller. Even though I'm always down in Santanyi, it's probably my favourite place on the island. Contrary to some, I don't think the development has spoiled it at all. I've got a pic of my parents in Port de Soller, and all that's there is the Esplendido, and the very first hotel, the one on the corner, (name escapes me - is it The Eden?), and a couple of other buildings. Love the restaurants over the far side beyond the marina, although it's not cheap. Watching the sun set over the bay.... Gorgeous! Did you park in the multi-story? That's 'fun'😂 Although it's not as bad as the underground one in Soller! Nice video.

Informative video - thanks, Alex. I predict prices will rise next year as soon as the rennovation of that now expanded, substantial four-star hotel is complete ...'twas ever thus!

Really enjoyed watching this video Alex. The citric has undergone a major transformation. Omg! It looks like there is still lots to do. I noticed some steel beams on the front of the building that may be large balconies for the rooms. What a view they will have

It will be amazing, but my goodness, the old hotel hides in the shadow of this new construction.

Hi Alex, another great video of the port, you’re just teasing me but only 5 sleeps to go and I’ll be there! I believe the Marina Hotel has been run by the same family for over 80 years now. Karen and I used to stay there on a few occasions and I use it frequently on my holidays as a regular drink stop and the odd lunch or two. It’s good value, has a good position and I’ve got to know quite a few of the regular staff through my many visits to the port. Simon 😊😎🍺

It does look really lovely, but for me it would just be a place to have lunch, I much prefer being in Soller town. I’m not really a beach lover. Lovely video thanks Alex.

When we first visited port de soller, it was virtually a one street town. It has grown so much,it has been made so commercial now. But being such a popular beautiful island, I suppose we should expect this. Majorca has so much to offer, but a balance must be put in place for the people that live their. But without the holiday trade, majorca would be struggling financially.

I picked Port de Soller as one of my retirement destinations, 10-15 years ago -- sadly its changed so much for the worse and its off the list.

@@MallorcaUnderTheSun Yeah I know, very disappointing. I might be over in Sept/Oct to check out other retirement spots to see how they are.
