It's based on the original AR-10 in 7.62 NATO designed by Eugene Stoner. Same guy that designed the AR-15, but that one is in 5.56 NATO. The 10 was the original design from the 1950s, but the world was shifting more towards a standardized intermediate rifle cartridge. The AR-10 evolved into the AR-15, which led to the M-16 and M-4 families.

Don't forget that armalite the creators of the AR 10 sold a copy of 10s schematics to colt cooperation for a huge sum that led to the m16 after they made thisr own modifications to the original design that led to the birth of the first m16s

Is it possible that the devs are trolling FO 76 players with the caravans? I mean you have players that have been around for 6 years and 8,000+ hours of play. They end up helping a caravan run, chasing a cow in a giant circle for a total of 1 Supply, if it doesn't bug out before you can complete it.

im a gunsmith and that is an AR10 in 7.62 NATO or 308. its a variant of the AR15 chambered in 5.56 NATO. hope that clears it up. hard to differentiate between the AR10 and the AR15. the M4 is the same platform but it can be run full auto.

Nope, that’s a M16A4. It has the picatinny rail with removable carry handle to apply a scope or red dot. AR10 is chambered in 308 and does not have a removable carry handle back in 1963. With Respect.

You're right, Bethesda should give clear and complete explanations for the items they're selling in the Atomic shop. It would save their customer service as much grief as it would their customers. In case you or other ppl reading aren't aware, you can ask for refunds on Atomic shop purchases through their support site. I hear they actually are good about providing refunds, I asked for a refund on that Red Rocket dumpster and got it quickly. Yes, the description did give a clue about it only giving plastics, but I'm a dummy and just saw "generates junk". If there were a clear/plain/dumb description of what it did, I wouldn't have gotten it in the first place.

It's a resource collector for fertilizer. It's well known that you can't have 2 of the same resource collector. It's simply a reskin so the game views it the same.

Bethesda should make an AR-10 type of weapon in 76 instead of it being a skin for the handmade, it would be really neat to see upgrades like a under slung grenade launcher or flamer on it, and maybe more unique outfits like an NCR trooper apparel would be nice. And maybe some companions too, I would love to see that.

Lorewise, the NCR doesn't exist yet. Not hating, I used to LARP as an NCR 1st Recon, so I'd love to play NCR related missions, but they'd be jumping... the gun.

Here to put it to rest, this skin overlay mimics both AR-15/M-16 and the the AR-10 Rifle platform style. The only difference is the caliber, 5.56 for the AR/M-16 and 7.62 for the AR-10....

I own the 15 and 10. This is an AR10. Both guns look mostly the same. In real lige the 15 fires 5.55 and the 10 fires 7.62 or 308. Other than the magazine and few cosmetic differences due to slightly different receiver size, they look nearly identical. The M4 is the military name for the AR15 rifle. So, all answers can be considered correct.

The weapon in question would be an AR-10 with the carry handle removed. A close 2nd place would be the M16A2 with the carry handle removed and using the standard Vietnam era 20 round mag. Those mags did not go past the pistol grip and they were slant cut where as modern M4 mags and AR-15 mags curve due to the higher capacity. Also the forward grip is solid, with both the AR-10 and M16/M16A2 both shared since those weapons used a longer barrel compared to today's versions. My father's M16 from Vietnam was a lot like this, but his had the carry handle. This all makes sense since both the M16 and AK-47 were fighting each other, so of course a skin would change the hand made from AK to M16.

M4? Noooo, it’s way too long. This is a M16A4 Styled Rifle due to the slotted foregrip. M16A4 has a removable carry handle to attach a scope. American Rifle 🇺🇸 It was chambered in 5.56. Good rifle 👍🏻

It's an AR 10 for sure but the top part the dot is mounted on is a a psudo weaver or picatinny rail which makes it look a bit like an M4, partly because pre 1992 those top rails never existed for that rifle and also because the original AR10's had a top mounted ram horn like charging handle and a carry handle. We also know the screaming eagle is based off the new vegas service rifle which is also an AR 10. The real answer is mostly AR10 but with the top rail of an M4 and the charging handle swapped to the left because it's a handmade rifle skin and they have to use the same animation.

Should have been the high level AR in the game called the ‘Infantry Rifle’, with the normal AR being a Machine Gun variant that uses 5.56 or .50 Cal depending on the attachments. The big Turret Browning .50 Cal Machine Gun could’ve been a Power Armor only variant and the Light Machine Gun would fit nicely in the middle.

Its an FN-FAL. Really wonderful rifle. It couldnt be an AR-10 in 7.62 NATO because that has a handle. Though it is the exact design of that without the handle lol.

To Me this weapon looks like the M4 With the Screaming Eagle skins. But from my understanding the weapon it self is the Chinese Version of the AK-47 so basically it's a rip off of a Russian weapon that is somehow now a American weapon if you add this skin to it. Also for some reason Vault-Tec has a lot of this weapon in Vaut 63 but if you know the background of the weapon it doesn't make much sense even if you say they got them from communists in the region.

To me with the skin it looks like an AR=15. I prefer the classic handmade skin because it looks like the real world AK=46 and from fallout 3 the Chinese assault.rifke. I think they should have called it the Chinese assault rifle for the sake of lore. Plus could have introduced the 7.62 to he used in the rifle.

My favorite skin for the handmade is the communist skin. It looks like an AK. I hate that the fixer is a .45 but shoots further and deals more damage than the handmade aka Krink. Krink being a nickname for AK chambered in 5.56.
