I can live without nightlife, but love breweries and bars, and good food is a must. I had good food at Haberdish and Good Year House but other than that, the food seemed to be lacking. I live close to NYC now and love ethnic cuisine but haven’t found it yet in Charlotte, particularly Asian. Hawkers was NOT it. I think another big NO about Charlotte is the lack of beaches. Lakes, in comparison, just don’t hit the same. With that said, I’m still seriously contemplating a move there.

I agree with all your points. I miss being close to beaches in NJ. The food is definitely mediocre. It is all a tradeoff.
