I recommend you visit Ephesus (Ancient Greek City), Pamukkale (Beautiful Travertens), Cappadocia (Great Terrain), Safranbolu (200+ year old byzantine-style houses the entire city), Mardin (Middle Eastern houses without the dangers of being in, you know, Iraq or Syria but rather being in Turkey)

Hi, you mentioned not having money for the airport train? Why didn’t you withdraw using your WISE card? 1. Can I put a SIM card in the phone at the airport and buy data package?

Hey, so the full story is that I found that out at the metro station, so went to withdraw the cash with my Wise card, but 3 out of 5 different cash machines I tried weren't working. Then I finally got the cash, started running back to the metro and when I arrived realised the money had fallen out of my pocket on the way back 😭😭 moral of the story is to carry cash or have the Istanbul Card at all times (and take care of your money!).. for your phone, I imagine there probably are SIM cards at the airport, however I used a Ubigi e-Sim which you can download and top up the data you need in advance: few.cellulardata.ubigi.com/?P512C3F57DBF5191&redir=https%3A%2F%2Fcellulardata.ubigi.com%2F Hope this helps!

I have an overnight layover, but not leaving the airport. I'm not even leaving the airside of the terminal. Would it be a good idea for me to get around $100 of Turkish Lira? My lodging is paid, but I might want souvenirs from the gift shop.

Hey, in the airport certain shops have their prices listed in $ but end up charging you in TRY, so perhaps a small amount of lira would be good to have to ensure a better exchange rate (though unlikely to make a huge difference). Thanks for watching!!

MERHABA! Super good informative video! First time as a family of 5 going to Istanbul in Jan. tho... Did you say our toucheless bank cards can be used for public transportation? We'll prob. do public transport from Sabiha airport to our hotel in Sultanahmet - yeah only 3 full days so we'll do touristic things so will try to avoid buying stuff in Grand / Spice Bazaar lol..Husband is not a bargainer but I am!

Teşekkürler Claire!! Yes you can, only line you can’t use them on is the line for IST airport. For SAW I don’t think it’s a problem as I was on that line at one point and was able to use my bank card. Enjoy!! 😁🇹🇷

@@MillennialsWithMoney Yeah, that would save a hassle to buy Istanbul card for 5 (and heard that it's nonrefundable for the balance too!)...Cool, from SAW via M4 + transfer to get to Sirkeci would be a "breeze" - thanks again Güle gale :) But in term of pricing - I have a very "French" husband and he's not into bargaining or "cheap street" food LOL...So, I am searching for good restaurant up to Michelin star ones - wish me luck 😛
