If the clothing had to be compressed and the luggage had to be sat on to closed, I don’t think I’d call this packing system very efficient

Did a carryon only for flight to japan in major airline. Two main reasons was that at the time Japan had lots of stairs at the airport so a roller bag didn't make sense if you have keep lugging up stairs with heavy suitcases. Second was that it enable us to quickly go from deboarding the plane straight into our vacation with included the Jr rails. When we landed at Narita it was a blessing we didn't have to wait for checked bags. The rails were flooded which meant everyone had to take bus into tokyo. So instead of being behind everyone and waiting long lines we jump even the first class passengers and caught the bus before lines got long.

How much the the carry on weigh?

not to sound mean or anything but when I seen you entering the plane with that small luggage AND big backpack it annoyed me because this is why so many people have trouble stowing in the overhead bins because some people take more than their fair share or space..no offense but you are flying to Japan and can not or refuse to pay the small fee for checked in baggage?? while I understand wanting to pack only what is needed..I just cant fathom going to Japan but can not or refuse to pay luggage..I mean you already are saving on budget carrier..but then no luggage? so then once there you do not buy souvenirs? yeah nah

Just check it in..that’s a hazard if it goes flying and hits a baby, child, adult or pet. It would be really dumb if it ends up crippling someone or yourself bc you really can’t fit in a carry on honestly without scamming airlines or flight attendants that it’s not over weight limit as you pick it up to stow away. If you have to sit on it and force it to close then you can’t really fit in a carry on without risk of it busting at the seams. Influencing more ppl who can’t fit in a carry on to abuse airlines and cause prices to go up or reduce inches in luggage carry on again with videos like this is just asking for it. What do you do with thousands of passengers shows up like this? It’s already a problem and airlines have crack down and they’ll do it again bc of ppl like you. If you just didn’t make a video and it’s only you two showing up like that you get a better chance of your sneaky agenda. If you’re so well traveled to make this video then why have you not got it together. The original carry on only travelers do not do this. So many ppl show up like this causing problems and thousands of dollars for airlines’ delays. Just lose the extra luggage and travel light and stress free. You’re still hoarding materialistic habit and bringing too much. It’s gonna take a while before you’re gonna stop overpacking since you’re still not wearing half the clothes from trips before. Your fellow travelers on your flight will look at you in fear bc of your hoarding. Ppl want to survive if there’s a crash or anything and luggage over weight flying is not gonna help in emergency situations. Be smart and don’t be the idiot that kills other passengers bc you failed to check it in. Travel safe is priority for you and fellow passengers traveling.

This is so random! I am planning for a trip to Japan in April and clicked on this video. Instantly I was like "Hmm.. that looks like Giselle from OPHS" and low and behold it is that very same Giselle. Had no idea you were this big travel person on social media! Anyways, great video! :)

What month did you have those warm temps in Japan? I'm going first of April 2024. I just got back from Switzerland and it was unseasonably warm! Thankfully, I checked the weather and didn't pack heavy jackets or sweaters.

Always smart to check the forecast first! This was for a trip last March. I would definitely recommend at least one heavy/warm layer for early spring in Japan.

Another April 2024 Japan traveller here! See you all there in 5 weeks 😂

Most international flights allow one checked bag per person, so why not take advantage of that? I can't wear the same clothes for 2 weeks, even if I plan to wash along the way. And you will definitely need something to store all the stuff you buy in Japan!

If traveling around Japan or other countries, it can be easier to have lighter luggage!

Most all accommodations in Japan have washer dryer combo in the room. They do take about 3 hours to do a load so you want to load it before you go out for the day.

I do that but I make sure to put them in a baggie/sandwich bag before doing so.

People who wear backpacks on planes pay no attention to the people behind and around them. They turn to speak to one another and the backpack hits nearby people. Convenient for them, but not for the rest of us.

ugh my biggest pet peeve are the people that book it to the front to deplane the plane even if they don't have a tight connection

This is the least efficient packing list/video I've seen. There are so many videos of people packing 28L packpacks for an entire month to another country. Some even pack 35L with room to spare for souvenirs.
