I know I'm a couple years behind on this video, but I just bought this for switch the other day. I have never played an RPG like this before but I kind of wanted something fantastical to play in bed on the switch. I figure if I like this one enough I'll go ahead and try Baldur's Gate 3. I've just always been pretty averse to turn based combat. But for some reason I was really tempted to buy this one on sale so here I am. This is one hell of a guide, kudos on you for making it

I just brought this game to prepare for balders gate 3 as never played this game I can't even get past tutorial boat part no matter my dialogue choices I end up in fight and just get slaughtered 😂

If it is the prison try to aim barrel with fire or something to set the prisoner on fire. This way they lose some hp going towards you. That part your forced to fight since it is the tutorial fight. Things will get tougher however you can cheese many of the battles. Baldur's Gate 3 is like that but with a great D&D twist to combat in that game.

The starter crafting recipes were EXACTLY what I needed, THANK YOU. I can mostly find my way around this game, but crafting is really overwhelming. But I also it's really important... so yeah... that was very helpful. My bags are full of junk that I have no idea what to do with, le sigh. Here's a question, if anyone would be so kind. I'm very early in the game but already I have a bunch of weapons that are subpar compared to what my toons are wielding. I should just sell them, right? I've been holding onto them because I'm unsure if maybe I can use them as crafting mats.

Bro, you kinda dismissed telekinesis out of hand. It's the most broken and powerful combat ability in the game! I am currently at the end of Act 2 and have a chest that weighs in at over 7,000 lbs (could be more but I got bored with picking up elemental chests and other heavy items). I simply have a character hold the chest and explore with the others. Whenever I need to drop the hand of God on an enemy, I simply transfer the chest with magic pockets, drop with the character with telekinesis, and collect exp and loot. After, I pick up the chest with the char with telekinesis, transfer back the holding char, and continue on my quest. There is no other ability in this game that compares in terms of AP to damage. It takes 1 AP to kill anything you have LoS on. Does it make combat boring, yes. The only issue is if an enemy has retribution or casts Shackles of Pain...

It does good in DOS 2, but DOS 1 does it much better.

The story is pretty good. It takes a bit to get used to combat since it is turn based.
