Oh Wayne, you are drawing me into the world of mandolin. Don't play but i want to start.

Just do it. I took me months to convince myself to start playing. I have been for 4 or so months and not looked back.

Did you get started yet pal?

Wayne you are killing it with the content! Thanks so much. I have been a huge fan of yours for decades. I still kick myself for not buying your Acutab book and getting you to sign it at a gig you played with 3TO back in the early 2000's. I was worried about bothering you in between sets and didn't want be an annoying fan and talk mandolins with you. Little did I know what a great teacher you are and how gracious you are with sharing with your knowledge. Keep up the great work! Hopefully I run into you at a 3TO show soon and see you tear it up!

This is great! Love the “modal” approach to the mandolin and how fun it is to use what you’ve learned to just play 😊

This really good advice to just start playing. And love what you’re doing and try new stuff. The jam you did I rewound 12 times. You rock. The trick for me is to remember how to play the jams I came up with next time I play.
@waynesworldofmandolin3616 Жыл бұрын
Thx for the comment Joseph! I'm sure that we ALL forget jams that we come up with at times. When it's feelin great and you're havin fun like that remember to take advantage of the voice recorder on the ole cell phone. 😉

Dble stop scale ?! Wayne, I've been trying to understand how to pull out and apply all the dble stop possibilities for way to long. Seemed so confusing, but I think you just opened the door for me. Sincere thanks. Your videos are great, especially for a fellow "organic learner".

Hi Wayne! Mandolin newbie here and just found you and your channel. Looking forward to spending a great deal of time learning from you. Could you share what the song is during the opening sequence? I can't get it out of my head and want to hear more! Thank you so much!

That's a tune I wrote called Donner Pass. You can check it out on Spotify ir wherever you stream music. It's under the artist name Benson.

Hello Wayne.I like the fun bluesey rhythm pattern you have going on in the key of G. You seem to be using your two fingers (the ring finger and pinkey) to mute the strings on the mando to get that percussive effect while playing the blues rhythm. Could you please do a video lesson on this kind of thing plus how to play the chordal notes with that fun chop going on with the hammer-ons and stuff? Maybe you have a lesson on this very thing floating around out there. Thank you, Wayne.

Thx for the request Anthony. That's a great idea for a video. I'll do my best to cover that for you during the fall and winter months we're about to move into. Stay tuned......

Hi Wayne, do you have a video out there about how you warm up? What is the first thing you do typically when you pick up your mandolin for the day?
@waynesworldofmandolin3616 Жыл бұрын
I don't have a video about warming up but thats a very interesting topic for sure. It definitely varies for me depending on what I'm working on in that particular season.....

Hey Wayne: Have you done a video on getting that chop that you played on this video? I have tried to figure out how to do that. Or is time for another lesson?

Hello Wayne. What is the name of the theme song to this video? I really like it - it comes at the intro and at the end. Is there a recording of this tune played in its entirety somewhere as done by two mandolins like you present here? Thank you.

Thx so much! I'm glad you like the theme. It's never been recorded other than me goofin off in my home studio.....

I appreciate the "eat your vegetables" vids. And I love this application vid for those. Here's an idea! You mention that you've got videos on the sight that lead up to what you did in this vid. What if you put those together in a Playlist so that we could review in one place the foundational "eat your vegetable" vids that lead up to this vid. Thanks.

Thx for the comment Elmer. You'll find what you need in the playlist titled "Learn the Fretboard". Goodluck pal.....
