Love your enthusiasm for the UK scene. Love ed and have tried to digest his lyrics(more than on the first time so respect for picking up so much). I think his whole last section was to do with his last bar. " Starved on a monatery time clock, sunken." Meaning the whole world is looking for profit and making GDP, this is a false promise as it consumes and keeps consuming meaning we exponentially need to destroy to create profit which won't work. This then brings in his final verse talking about different forms of work and war to obtain that profit to fund the fundamentally floored system. Thing with scissor is you can make up your own meanings, same with jam. Much love

While we're here for a reference you wouldn't get. The very first sentence. "Starter for 10" we have a TV show called university challenge, basically the posh v posh at university going at it. This is how the host starts the first round, starter for 10. This puts extra emphasis on what the next sentence is that is a question.
