Mistakes committed in first 4 attempts 1. Insufficient revision 2. Not practiced more questions 3. Lack of concept building 4. Deciding how many questions to be answered before seeing paper 5. Didn't do what I have to do in exams 6. More focus on completing books rather than understanding of concepts 7. Not knowing syllabus by heart What to do 1. For prelims : Practice as many papers as possible, revise again n again 2. For mains : write as many questions as possible 3. Make limited notes 4. Small is beautiful i.e., less notes useful for revision n take to exam. 5. Practice more essays to know ur strength 6. Preparation should sync with UPSC questions 7.
