This explains a lot now. Back in 2018 I use to watch full dr phil episodes on youtube, they were everywhere. I always found it strange how ever account that uploaded them had a pfp of someones selfie or a family. It became even weirder when you would click the account, prior to all the episodes being uploaded they would have personal uploads that was clearly done by the person who owned the account. The account would also never be new accounts, it would be an account created back around 2012 or 2013. Glad to know what was actually going on with them, always peeked my curiosity as to what was going on

I remember when I was little, I was using my father's account for KZbin. A nasty comment that I had no idea about was posted on one of my favorite KZbinrs under the account, and I got screamed at for around a half hour for it, and was forced to admit to it. After thinking about the events for over two hours, I can almost guarantee that this is what happened to me, due to my tendency to reply to these kinds of comments when I was small and just starting out. At one point in Muta's vid (7:25 at the very bottom, barely visible) there's a legit comment from someone saying they were pulled to the bot's video from gogoanime, which means whoever is running this operation is at a level where they're capable of running shady ads on ad networks for pirate websites (gogoanime) which don't vet or screen their advertisers. Again, kids like anime. So this might ACTUALLY be some high-level pedo operation to funnel kids to these scam channels in order to gain access to children's Google accounts (including their Google Photos accounts!) Please upvote my comment because there might actually be something to this theory! And this is not satire. I'm being serious. Most pedo rings never get caught because they operate in a semi-visible manner which is extremely cryptic and near-impossible to trace. Upvote and leave a reply!

I once replied to a bot... then I saw a comment made with my account that I didn't make of course and it was promoting shit. I checked everywhere if there was weird activity on my account other than the comment and I found nothing. No emails telling of a compromise, no notification on my phone telling me someone logged in... absolutely nothing, this shit is weird. Since then I've enabled 2FA, changed passwords, revoked access to unused apps and websites. I hope this crap doesn't devolve into something worse for me, I don't wanna lose my stuff.

To be honest, I knew it was weird and not quite normal since you don't really ask stuff like that on an instrumental channel, so I never really bothered replying to it. I remember getting the "love it" bots (usually a cartoon fruit pfp) on the first video I made. Can't remember if I came across the "wanna be friends", but obviously I had seen it on other channels. All of it just felt really shady.

There's definitely been something janky going on in the background. About a month ago when people were warning everyone about a different bot that was asking everyone to be buddies, people were saying not to even click on it. Out of curiosity, I right clicked and copied the link, saved it in a text file and opened it in a fresh VM. Instead of just opening up at the bot's channel, it wanted authentication - that is not normal - you shouldn't need to authenticate just to visit a channel by clicking on a commentor's name in the comments.

So KZbin has a bug that lets you put a custom link in your channel name? Get on it, you may get a good payout from Google. I can't believe KZbin would have a bug like that, but maybe some clever HTML injection going on in the channel name or somewhere else user input is displayed without proper checking. I actually did a hack like that on a start-up's FB game, for a bit of fun before reporting the bug and undoing what I'd done (played a KZbin video hidden off the page, just for it's audio content - something browsers won't let you do now, now it's just style="visibility:hidden" for the same effect).

I saw this on another vid, what they do is try to grow their channel to the point where they have over 100000 subs, then they sell their account to someone, but after they do this, they contact KZbin saying that it was a mistake, so it’s basically one big scam.
