Day 2 of my landscape photography trip, day 1 on the beautiful Isle of Harris. It was a rough day, I was tired and feeling unwell, but for now the weather held. I exposed 2 images on this day, the first of which I am more happy with than the second. Enjoy.

Nice message in your video Tom. The one other thing I would like to say is that "don't litter". I am sure all of us have seen rubbish in the remotest places... it breaks my heart. I recently spoke to a photographer who consciously carries a bag with him and keeps space for bringing back rubbish that he finds on the sites he visits. Lovely video... I love the first shot.

It’s amazing what dehydration and lack of sleep can do to your state of mind. But despite all that, you persevered and continued your pursuit for an image. The images you managed to capture here are wonderful. The first shot was stunning with so many interesting elements, I imagine many photographers would have passed by this and not seen it’s potential. Wonderful work!

The first thing you said in this video about inspiration hit home for me. I live in the states, in the midwest , and when I look at my surroundings, I don't see anything worth taking a photo of , let alone having enough interesting stuff to make a video and posting it. I have plans to go to a couple of local places but when you look at what you and so many other landscape photographers post it seems futile to try it. You all have great skills which you have developed over time, with experience, effort, and talent. You guys make it seem so easy to do and for someone like me who wants to start out it sometimes feels like I will never get to a point I will be even close to producing anything like the quality what you and others like you have achieved. Sorry for the rant but your video really hit a part of me that I need to work on. Thanks for the video and all the hard work you do! I have a long journey ahead and I need to get off my butt and get out there and shoot. Thank you, and keep doing what you do, you are a inspiration for many people who would love to follow in your footsteps!

Wow, When you said pristine white sand, you really meant it as it shows in the photos. The choice to do B&W over color on the white sandy beach was a good choice as it highlights the windswept curves in the sand - even the small ones that probably wouldn't be as obvious if taken in color. Really like your work - very ambitious!

I agree that we should try to be courteous. But we should also remember that it goes both ways. I was in Arches a few years ago, at Delicate Arch, about a half hour before sunset. When I arrived, there were already 20 or more photographers all bunched up together to get the iconic (cliche) shot of the arch... ... and tourists kept wandering out in front of the arch to take pictures of each other. And the photographers were awful! I was embarrassed to be one of them. They shouted at the (other) tourists, telling them to get out of the way. These tourists had paid their entrance fees as well. They had every right to be there. They may have saved and waited months or years to visit, and they have just as much right to their souvenir picture as the photographers do their cliche post-card pictures of the arch. Great video, as usual! Thanks for sharing your experiences, Thomas! They make me want to visit the UK :-)
