Don't like the colour rendering of Portra 160 - sorry. Nice shots though. I prefer your images taken with the Fuji 50R. I honestly can't understand the fascination with analogue film.
@mikemcdonald27522 жыл бұрын
I'm still confused. Why don't you have multiple film backs for your Blad? When I used to shoot film on my Bronica SQ-Am, I had one back loaded with some kind of color (Ektar-25 or Velvia-50) and the other loaded with B&W (T-Max 100). To be limited on what you can photography by what film you loaded the day before seems such a shame. Irregardless of the equipment trifles, I really enjoy your videos. I can almost feel the calm of the estuary, the squish of the mud, and the breeze from the fan. You're an exceptional story teller! And not a bad photographer either! :-)
@AJ278332 жыл бұрын
Beautiful. One thing I’m wondering about - why not use extra film backs? You can load one with BW film, one with E6 and one with C41, and not worry about the “should my next roll be Eterna” problem.

Theswe shots are different than your usual, but they'll be sellers. Many people like thse kinds of images. * Pajamas in a van? What's the world coming to? :-) That vegiburger'd be good with stone ground mustard,mayo, avacado, you have that), and red peppers.

An excellent video, calm and peaceful! And great photography of course. (As always). Last but not least - an excellent soundtrack. I wish you posted more often :) BUT...seems your photo studio messed up the processing of the film - visible stains especially in the sky area. I remeber this pain... So can't force myself to use film again - was nervous everytime I picked a processed film from local studio:)

Everytime I see that you are shooting film, I'm hesitant to watch. As I said before, you have removed that hesitancy. You take the shot and BAM, it's on screen. That is what I dislike the most about film. Such a long turnaround from the lab makes the learning curve go on and on. That's ok, I don't shoot film any more. Todays shots are what I would gladly mount on the walls of my home. Pleasing and they have lasting satisfaction. Exciting, colorful and sharp images are great, but I soon tire of looking at them. Really liked this. Thanks.

I used to shoot a Bronica C back in the day. This video brings back fond memories. The $25 dollar per 12 shot roll for film brings back other memories. It was my inability to make my own prints that eventually killed off that line of endeavor. I still admire the aesthetic however. I always wanted to shoot an 8X10 view camera for scenes like this. I have to say that coming from the Mojave desert the reference to a dry morning for these shots was slightly disconcerting.

A nice blissful and peaceful morning-- The shots that took me were the drone shots with dark ribbons of water against the sand-- was just a quick "B" roll shot but that was more to my liking-- The pics of the beach and estuary were just to blah in color and scope for my taste-- I hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.

What a lovely video to spend some time with on a Christmas morning. I'll be moving up to Scotland in the coming few months, and so it's been nice to see some of the landscapes I'll be able to look forward to. Out of curiosity, why were you focusing to infinity rather than hyperfocal?
@weisserth2 жыл бұрын
8:58 Pet peeve: it's not the choice of focal length that compresses the landscape, it's the distance from the landscape, e.g. the perspective, that causes compression. The landscape would be just as compressed with a wide angle lens from the same spot you took the image, the focal length only crops into the perspective you have chosen. If you cropped into the wide angle image, choosing a 150mm frame, the wide angle image will show the exact same compression. Like I said, it's a pet peeve. Something Ansel Adams also explains in this books (The Camera, The Negative, The Print). Causes lots of confusion with photographers all the time.

Having watched closely on you using long exposures, I cant work out if you are releasing the shutter on the cable release too soon, thus not allowing enough time for the shutter to work its time period (say 2 seconds).... There is a red/orange band marking on the slow shutter speeds around the lens barrel, to draw your attention to allow the time selected to stop you letting the capping blinds in the back of the camera to slam shut, and therefore inadvertently shortening your chosen exposure !!
@mikkokovasiipi2 жыл бұрын

When you're counting time in your head you need to start on zero thousand. One one thousand doesn't start till one second after you have started. When you start a stopwatch it doesn't start on 1.
