I did fairly recently. I didn't have a 24mm 12 point socket at the time. I only had 6 point sockets

@@SavageGTI hey bud you seem like you're pretty damn good with a GTI just bought an 06 and I'm driving it home and check engine light came on hooked up my obdeleven and the code is p2181.. which I know is either thermostat or coolant temperature sensor what do you think.. basically what's happening is the car is too cold to temperature gauge is staying about quarter tank Wise on the gauge which isn't even halfway.. I know cars run at regular temperature the gauge is at halfway someone told me I'm actually running to call which I think is a bad thing to ain't it

That water distribution pipe is prone to breaking especially at the age of those cars

How did you fix the nipple to the main distribution t to the coolant because it just happen to me
@SavageGTI4 жыл бұрын
I just bought a new distribution t online and replaced it. there's only 3 hose fittings plus the nipple on the top which is the line connected to the coolant reservoir.

Savage GTI oh ok thanks
@SavageGTI4 жыл бұрын
I don't recommend running the car but if you absolutely have to... seal off the hole with a self tapper with Teflon tape that will hold the pressure with no leaks. coolant will drain out the line where the nipple was thus depleting your coolant reservoir. you can jerry rig something to catch the flowing hot coolant but about 10min of running your car will beep and say coolant level low. Not a bad idea to get some distilled water to top off any lost coolant. VW wants a 50/50 mix of their g13 (or whatever is specified for your car) coolant and distilled water. Not a bad fix just inconvenient.

why did u get rid of the APR intake??
@SavageGTI4 жыл бұрын
I like the look of engine bay better being able to see the valve cover, plus any top of the engine mods or repairs requires the removal of the cover so now step 1 is done. No engine cover makes oil refills easier. I popped off the engine cover so many times to fix certain things I never really had it click back on tight. And with an intake that's more straight through you can hear the turbo flutter better.
