Hey cool vid. Quick one, why didn't you use the rear bump stop
@SavageGTI14 күн бұрын
I guess I didn't show it clearly. at 3:33 on the right side you see the stock bump stop on the spring where it would meet the body. The strut bump stop isn't needed, nor would it fit unless you take the whole shock apart. the damping adjuster is in the way.

on this video do you have an aftermarker exhaust system
@SavageGTI6 ай бұрын
I believe in this video the car has a 3in catless downpipe to 3in Megan racing cat back. Essentially straight pipe. Not recommended for highway driving
@CharlieFabito-d1p6 ай бұрын
@@SavageGTI nice. may i ask why your not recomending for highway drive.?
@SavageGTI6 ай бұрын
@user-sj3bq6yi1h very loud and drones around 3k rpm. Which at 65 - 75mph is right in that spot in 6th gear. It was fun but you can't have a conversation on the highway. I would recommend a catback with a muffler and resonator. Even if it's a small muffler it will be way better than straight pipe

Great Video! how did you go about fully adjusting rears? as well as springs did you adjust the rear struts too with the threads?
@SavageGTI9 ай бұрын
I left the ride height / preload all the same from factory. Only change I made was dampening. I turned the dampening on the rear to half way point and front to the softest. Perfect height for me, little stiff and uncomfortable for the amt of potholes and rough roads in my area but new roads feel amazing.

I never had a problem with my BOV. It all depends on sound and how loud you want it to be. I still have my GTI but I've kept it in my garage for the last year. Replaced altinator, starter, 02 sensor put a new exhaust on it but that got ripped off on train tracks. needs bearings a Throttle body new battery old car problems and a money pit lol.

Can you hear a hiss or the intake sucking air when you were losing boost ?

You hear a hiss from under the car kinda like a hole in a straw. Loose intercooler pipes will sound similar too
@waqashussain2310 Жыл бұрын
@@SavageGTI thank you just ordered new seals for the inter cooler pipe and I will be sure to get a new diverter valve too. The sound is exactly like that so it is definitely a leak.

In the video 3in catless downpipe to 3in Megan racing drift spec catback. No mufflers only small resonator. I switched to a quieter catback from Billy Boat but they didn't make flanges for the hangers(covid days) and in the winter it fell off and got bent. Now I have stock catback on after loosing $700 on the last exhaust

@MODEL AIRCRAFT @MODEL AIRCRAFT all mk5 and up GTI's use a 2.0T engine. But there is an FSI and TSI which they switched to for mid 2008. I have the 07 FSI which this install was for, either way if you're on a stock tune or stage 1 the stock spring is what you want. If you take it back apart you'll diagnose what the noise you hear is

Does tapping it into the manifold make it produce the noise? I have the same blow off on my GLI but it’s completely silent, the instructions made me t off the brake booster.

Any vacuum line should work. They should all experience the same pressure. Check if you plumbed the BOV correctly.
@Surestick882 жыл бұрын
A diverter valve is what most turbocharged vehicles use stock. It vents to the intake pre-turbo and is silent. A blow-off valve vents to atmosphere and makes noise.

@SavageGTI3 жыл бұрын
If it shuts off after a pull like driving then when you start to coast it shuts off. That would mean you have a boost leak somewhere. I had one at an intercooler pipe. But if you're having issues after installing a BOV I'd check to make sure it's hooked up right
