This story is super gnarly. I admire this woman’s tenacity as I’m sure this has worn her down. I had to testify against two police officers over a decade ago all the girls that testified against these officers. It was my testimony put them away. It does not have been convicted testimony. I can’t even tell you what I went through and how exhausting it was and how I still suffer from PTSD. I didn’t have a good network of support at the time and I finally just gave up. It wasn’t worth the fight. Anything court related anxiety now. There is so much bullshit that goes on and judges that disappear from the case and people that are paid off again I really bravery. I hope she wins against these villains!

Basically, if I would’ve stayed and fought, I could’ve gotten $1 million like the other girls that testified in this court case. But it was such a hassle and weird things kept happening… Someone defecating all over my clothes in the laundry and breaking into my apartment… The police are bigger than you. And when you testify against one of them, let alone two of them they come after you for me to stay in that state. Really open my eyes to the corruption not only within the police department, and the people that are paid to serve and protect you, but also the justice system.

Decades ago I saw an interview with Maria Shriver in which she shared that when she was young, she & her brothers were always reminded "To whom much is given much is expected". The fact that I remember this quote should indicate that it made a lasting impression on me. Her father, Sargent Shriver, seems to have lived his life -at least outwardly- according to this principle as he either founded, or was instrumental in founding, the Peace Corps, the Job Corps & Head Start, among other programs. If they were alive today, I wonder whether Maria's parents would endorse her & her family's actions??
