This song is GORGEOUS!!! That high long note, "Iiiiiiiiil'll", spot on, Dave. The music is wonderful. I like your comparison to a James Bond movie. They're one of the biggest bands to not to be asked. Come on, Bond producers, let's get a Depeche Mode theme song! Just listen to that guitar!

A masterly produced track. Amazing lyrics. Sets up the album for the second half. When you get to BWD, let it wash over you…don’t rush to stop and comment. You’ll regret it if you do. Just let it play. It’s a special special song. Enjoy ☺️

Like many of us said: This album doesn't contain any bad songs. At least for me it doesn't. Next song will be quite different though, very rocky, almost punk. But VERY good too.

Fun Fact, Martin or DM was offered to do the James Bond music for the Bond film "the world is not enough". He turned it down, apparently it`s the first and only time an artist has rejected the offer. dam it I wish they had of done it. The band Garbage did it in the end.

1/3 of album has been done. This one was written by Martin and Richard Butler (I believe James Ford added violins and pedal steel guitar, like on Spirit). I considered all the things in the songs symbolise: «I’m everything that defines you», - but in fact it’s just abstraction for beautiful lyrics. I agree with your interpretation. Sad that Martin and Dave are getting older and older for live shows.

This is one of the best new to me songs I have heard in a minute 😮 The lyrics are pure poetry. I LOVE this song! This is one of the songs that hits you in the soul. Tell me I'm wrong. I don't usually say this but if this song does not make you feel something then you may just be d€@d inside. My thoughts: Just real quick: You sometimes hide parts of yourself from people that think they know you but you have doubts if they would accept the parts you that aren't so peace light and love. Everyone has a good side and a bad side. But not everyone is accepting of their own whole selves let alone of others not so pleasant parts. GOLD STARS SEPH 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Catch you on the flip side 😉 Peace ✌

I love your thoughts on this one!! And it opens up a question, have you got a dark side you keep hidden Sammy? 😈
@sammy_the_uncool2702

@@SephPlays Good question. Have I got a dark side? Admittedly because I am a quiet person in the group I've had people joke that I could be the anti- Christ. I've had people joke that I hide a very sinister and dangerous side. I am not dangerous. Unless you take into consideration the knowledge I have stored in my head from reading books on a wide variety of subjects. Fun fact: I could tell you how to cure yourself from accidentally eating the very deadly poisonous machineel apple that is indigenous to the British Virgin Islands. You only have a very limited time of course but anyways upon taking a bite of the sweet smelling but cigarette ash tasting machineel apple if you don't want to expire physically from this world induce vomiting. I'm serious. The only person on the planet to have taken a bite from a machinery apple and live to tell the tale was a woman who was grossed out by the taste she made herself vomit it back up within minutes. Also fun fact: 70% of the earth's plants are toxic to humans. You would not think this but foxglove- a pretty flowering plant- has properties that can induce a heart attack in humans if administered incorrectly (or correctly depending on one's motive here on preparing foxglove for ingestion). So overall yes I know some stuff that depending on one's viewpoint is either cool but harmless or questionable and potentially dangerous. In all honesty I am not a dangerous person. But I've had guys tell me that there is a part of them that are scared of me. Which is hilarious to me. I have a strong belief system in what is right and wrong and I live by that to the letter. Besides I have absolutely zero desire to go spend even a day behind bars. HELL NO ALL THE WAY TO THAT! Anyways I do hope this answers your question Seph :D
@sammy_the_uncool2702
@sammy_the_uncool2702 5 ай бұрын
@@SephPlays Well my reply went 💨😒 Shittles. Short answer: I think everyone has a dark side. It also depends on what you consider to be "dark". I have read all sorts of books on a wide variety of subjects. Knowledge is power as the old saying goes 😉 P.S. I can be really stubborn sometimes. Like really stubborn. I am also an opinionated person behind closed doors. I also have a slow to rise temper. I don't show anger often. But call my integrity into question and expect me to make you feel about two feet tall for daring to question my character. OH HELL NO! That and when someone who is not knowledgeable on a subject I am knowledgeable in questions my knowledge. Like dude... No. Depending on my tolerance level I'll either walk away or just stare at them and think, "Okay, let's do this then." I don't think that's "dark" necessarily. But I also know for a fact that I have taken others by surprise at times when I stand firm on something and/ or go toe to toe. Never with strangers in a face to face interaction. I don't get into it with strangers. Quite frankly while I can be interested in a random person's thoughts on something I'm not really affected by their opinion. (That's different from when you walk away enlightened by someone after an interesting conversation. Totally different in my opinion.) If I care about you then yes your opinion matters to me. I know some might read that me as being cold. But I don't think so. Edit: Here on this space as you know Seph I have expressed my opinion on certain matters and remained firm as well. Debates are what they are and I don't take any of it personally. I move on with my life afterwards.

You got in one, when I first heard this when it got leaked, that this was Depeche Mode meets James Bond Theme song, the only other one that I recently heard that could have been Bond Theme and they have done one in the past (unlike Depeche Mode) was Duran Duran Wing from the Future Past album.

I get the James Bond vibe. It's a bit like a Western as well. Erasure - who share important history with DM - have a minor single called Don't Say You Love Me. To me, their song is about the longevity of a pop band like themselves. Quite interesting: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJunfYh8hL5jnpo

Better than Spirit and the 2 previous albums, but it still has a uniform sound feel. One song does not lead to the next like in Violator or Faith and Devotion. Still way better than other music out there.
