Mindanaoan here, and trust me, majority of Mindanaoans don't want to be separated from the rest of the Philippines because we know that if we got separated, we won't have an army since its called Armed Forces of the PHILIPPINES, we will lose Philhealth, the Professionals will lose their license because it's registered in the Philippine Regulatory Commission, among other services provided by the government of the Philippines. There's only a minority that supports secession here because they don't have higher educational attainment, they're unemployed, they're in a terrorist group, or they are a fanatic of a certain political figure.

Exactly. We may have a lot of resources but we would still lose a lot of major things. Our economy would have to be restructured, trade routes and flight paths would have to change again (which is hard because a new route would conflict with existing ones), exclusive resources that go through Luzon, rights to some things under the philippines. Although it could provide a better chance for us in a long term, it's not the right time.

Corruption occur more in local governments than the national government. Giving more power to these local officials would be more disasterous. Political dynasties even massacre each other for your reference. Philippines have a lot of issues in community development due to local government coordination. Allowing for decentralized implementation of laws will distabilized the educational, infrastractural, and environmental development across the country. Various Philippine provinces have their own fair share of abudance and lacking of resources that would need to be allocated across the country; especially during times of calamities (which happens a lot). A lot of these provinces rely on other province's goods e.g., agricultural products, fisheries, timber, minerals, craft goods, etc. Having decentralized will slow down the flow of allocated resources across the needy places. Finally, transition from Unitary to Federalism would require a charter change. As recently discussed in the senate, there's a lot of risk concerning abuse of power if a cha-cha were made. From extending the term of these officials, to more power for the official over the law. Partly saying, the process of transitioning will also be a huge disaster. I'm pretty sure there's a lot to tackle, and there may be solutions for each of them. However, the risks and issues outweighs the benefits. Federalism may work in other developed or even developing countries, but I'm sure you know that policy making depends on the population, not the system. Philippines faces issues concerning the implementation of laws, infrastructural projects, education development, and economic stability. The bottomline of the problem is within strict implementation, not lacking of power distribution.

As a Malindanaoan, I firmly believe that Mindanao should not be separated to the rest of the region of the Country, but, we should have the same support, budget and progress as other region has, I grew up here in Mindanao all my life and its sad to say that most part of Mindanao don't have access to Cellular towers, internet, school, clean water and electricity, in my area we harvest most of the produce that all nation needed, rice, vegetables and fruits, but farmers doesnt get the credit, and very low income for them. We need the Luzon economy more than Luzon needs us, our agriculture and other goods being exported is big but the modern world is not all that. Marami din ineexport na products galing sa Luzon na wala satin. And kung corruption ang reklamo ninyo, yung mga provincial officials natin is already corrupt paano pa kaya if makahiwalay na sa Manila kanino pa yan matatakot. Okay lang sana if competent at reliable ang mga officials kahit yan pwede na yan para maka rebuild at makasabay ng modern world pero hindi yan ang case dito. And sa mga kapwa bisaya ay mog padala anang storya sa uban atik na politika labaw nanang ex president nato kay ga likay nag iya kaso didto sa Holland tungod sa killings sa iyang termino.

For those people who say unfaired distribution of budget to the Mindanak, then, read it so you will be enlightened LGU(Local Government Unit) nakasalalay yung ekonomiya. Kung corrupt yung Mayor nyo, natural, hindi uunlad yung bayan nyo. Look at Puerto Princesa City(Our City) We have only almost 350,000 population but we are now number inthe first place around the Philippines if becomes in the fastest Urbanization. Kung napag-aralan nyo sa school yung politics, alam nyo dapat yan na walang karapatan ang National(Presidente/senator) na pakialaman ang pamumuno ng isang mayor sa isang lungsod. Sa tingin mo gaganahan mag invest sa lugar nyo yung mga investors kung corrupt yung LGU ninyo? Lakas nyo makasisi sa Presidente na corrupt at unfair sa pag distribute ng pera para sa development. May sasabihin pa ako, sa tingin mo ba unfair sila mag distribute ng budget? Nagkakamali ka jan kasi kung ilan ang hinihinginging budget ng mayor para sa mga project nila jan, ayun lang din yung binibigay ng National, so madaling salita, kung walang nangyayaring progress jan sainyo(any infrastructural project that will benefit the citizen) meaning to say, walang ginagawang plano yung mayor nyo pero kung meron namang kakaunti sabay putol putol, magduda kana, kinukurakot na yan hahahaha. Honestly, it would be better if Ph switches from Unitary to Imperial, so that the National Budget isnt centralized in Luzon anymore. What Mindanao earn, we spend on our own island (mostly). Same goes with the other two islands. Idgaf if people say it'll harm the country's heritage. A lot of Mindanao isnt supposed to be under Spain and America's treaty anyways, since the spaniards didnt conquer them. Besides, most of the people who say this live in the centralized area anyways. A lot of things will still be the same, except perhaps laws and budget distribution. Maybe the constitution has to be refitted though. But I say it's about time.

One of the reasons why some (and i highlight SOME) Mindanaoans agree with the separation is because Mindanao feels more ignored that Luzon and Visayas. Almost everything (concerts, trades, tourists visitation, etc.) happens in Luzon. It's always Luzon. Especially in Manila. Even if something does happen in Minda, it would be done a lot later than Luz and Vis (ex: New menu on fast food chains like Jollibee, Minda always adds/gets the resources for the new addition late). Aside from that, Luzon and Mindanao (especially the ones from Manila and the ones from provinces/bukids) have beef with each other. They overly stereotype each other to the point that they wouldn't get along at all. Note: This is only from what i observed and what some people say, idrc about this "issue" cuz i know that the Philippines won't let Mindanao go easily :P Also, I'm typing this at 2 in the morning, ignore my typographical errors😭
