Maybe after another 10 years of development they will finally work on performance when big horde is on screen because if they add NPC to that the game minimal requirments gonna go from 8gb ram to 16gb. And to be honest very first alpha required 2gb and it wasn`t lagging even with both at once.

That is what happen when you add 3d sprite, each with their own custom value for clothing, colors, hairs, etc . But one thing for sure, the game doesn’t utilize the cpu well so there is definitely a lot of room for improvement.

With how much money they made over the years, they really should just bring in someone whose only job is to optimise the code. Though after all this time, it's probably a case of spaghetti code and the fixes require a frightening amount of reworking the base.

yeah I honestly feel that at this point of development they need to take a break after NPCs + wildlife are added and just purely optimize this game. When the own game's base apocalypse settings lag the game they really just need to fix that. And mods pretty much take care of the whole "new content" need of the player base

For such a low graphic demanding game, I'm kinda sad that that amount of zombies kills frames, but also makes sence seeing as it's not graphics per say, but rather processing, each one of those is a AI that has pathing and decision making on how to get to you and perform its other tasks, so more CPU intensive

same.. I wanna experience the game playing with high population just to test myself but it just lags so much and my laptop is making an loud whirring noise;-; Instead I just go full superman sprinters at normal. It's hard and sometimes the zombies teleport (disappearing in front of me and then has a chance to later reappear at the same spot it was before) so it sucks sometimes dying for something I completely can't predict or attack. I hope they optimize it so that the game doesn't take so much memory to run the zombie AI.. It's a really good game, just sometimes absolutely wack cause of lag and glitches. Don't get me started with towing, I've had unfathomable deaths by flying cars.

Yeah i get this. Saw the Zomboid map and went down to the bottom left military base out of curiosity. By the time I got there I was surrounded by multiple hordes of atleast 50 each, I'd robbed all of Rosewood so I had been sitting on a pile of ammo all stored in my trailer. Didn't even get to use it all before I was cut down while trying to secure a place to sleep. Lost all I had there, and I'd stupidly left all car keys on my key ring instead of in vehicles. Now I'll have to head to mauldraugh or something to restock on a vehicle, gas for the trip, and guns. Makes me love this game though, im excited for the day I go back to see myself.

I know this well, my engineer who created wonderous bases, got caught in the back room of Ole Coffee. An alarm went off and I ignored my better judgment and high-tailed it. Situational awareness broke down as it's right next to the hotel and I got absolutely mobbed by a thousand coming in from all sides, started laying the wood down, but way too many. I should have built a quick wooden fence to slow them down, hindsight is 20/20. Always carry a sledgehammer when going into enemy territory, could knock down and wall and escape.

i used this cmd ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -an -vf mpdecimate=hi=600:lo=600:frac=1:max=0,setpts=N/FRAME_RATE/TB output.mp4 it kind of worked, but everytime the mouse moves mpdecimate thinks its an entirely new frame, probably the best solution for that would be to put big black UNMOVING boxes over where the mouse is moving everytime it starts moving, since its a short clip, and there isnt a lot of mouse movement anyway, it would be pretty easy to do but i lost my sony vegas
