"Hero" is a word that is used too often. It should be reserved for people like this man.

This is a man we should all subscribe to. A man with compassion, and empathy. A man with the stubbornness and tenacity to not give up. What a beautiful soul. I absolutely do not measure up. My pathetic attempts (donate here, give there) do not even count when I look at what this man has done. If we truly care it's time to step up to the plate and show it.

Ger 1107 ...donate here, give there? If you pray over the blessings given, you & l have no idea how far reaching it can extend. He didn't. So don't sell yourself short, my friend. Something does much compared to nothing.

Nicholas Winton depended on people such as you to do what he did. He had to raise money to save those children as well as finding them homes. His genius and greatness was organisation, but it also was teamwork. You need to keep doing what you are doing - it’s not as glamorous but it is just as essential. So thank you.

As a second generation survivor thanks to the kindertransport I found this deeply moving. And an inspiration to action for those in appalling conditions in Calais and escaping Syria.

Amazing. And history is starting to repeat itself all over again... I hope there are good people here today that have the same spirit as Sir Nicolas, they are needed now. As he always said. Look at the present and the future.

In a world such as ours, (now, with 'refugee issues' in 2018.).this story is especially heart stirring - to the point of tears. (In fact, I cannot get through any of these videos about courageous Sir Nicholas without unashamedly weeping) . We say in my family, "Stop minding your own business", which evokes a similar spirit as 'don't stand by'. Step up, and do the right thing. Whenever life challenges you to do it. Sometimes a minor act of kindness will cover a small palette, sometimes one, much larger. But the after-effect can change the personal destinies of so many lives. A lesson for us all. God bless.

Many people are remembered for what good things they did forever and some are also remembered as an evil to be cursed years by years. Nicholas Winton is a hero. I cannot stop crying knowing what he did to the Jewish children.

The future. Our teens and college students of this day need more to believe in than being wrapped up in themselves and brainwashed like Hitler Youth. They need to see and know stories like this one in order to have a future that is worth living in lest history repeat itself.

Why would you put "DONT STAND BY" Nicholas for the title for? Misleading. No he didn't just stand by we know that, but the Title still is put kinda wrong. HERO that he is alarted with brains and courage.

You do realise you cretin that it is quite different learning a new language when said language is based on the same alphabet compared to learning a completely new alphabet and language. Also, learning a new language when you are 8 is a lot easier than learning when you are an adult. How about you move to Dubai for a year then tell us how easy it is to learn an alien language
