Thanks, I am glad you like it :) I prioritized very early on to get resource farms up quick. Lureplant farms are a godsend and the volcano and the caves have enough minerals to last for a very long time. Along the way I also set up wall (07:57), turf(02:50) and plant (18:57)storage areas, so that I always have the materials when I want to built a new area. I hate nothing more than realizing I am missing somthing and that one thing is on the other side of the world.... or in another world haha.

@@ThePe5e I'd like to upload it one day, but everyone else's look so much better than mine. I'm also on the fence about world hopping. On one hand, I can get unlimited resources. On the other, my first worlds in both SW & RoG are really good. Got the reed-trap setpiece and in SW, the volcano, yaarctopus and everything I need is right close to my base.

You could technically still use the Teleportato in Hamlet for making certain items renewable but you dont really have to if you dont want to. There are enough items in 2 worlds that will last you for a very long time.

Thanks :) I only play the game when I am in a good mood. If I am not feeling motivated to build something new, I usually do some resource farming (Cut Grass & Twigs, Minerals etc.) or do something that fits the current timeslot (Trawling, Ruins raiding, killing the Tiger Shark etc.). Those will always be useful in the future and often I get more motivated after I played a while. I still have lots of projects in mind that I want to do, so I at least have a to-do list that keeps me coming back, but the game is also still fun. Mega basing building isnt for everyone, some just dont like the grind. That is fine though, DS has other options.

This is simply amazing. Like 10000 times better than my megabases :') But still I think you should do something about the water beefalo horde, it's not well placed. You should kill all but one so that it replaces the horde, it'll look better than they constantly fleeing :) It's a silly thing but it gets in my nerves. I literally had to do this with goats, and they were really far away even though I could've used a telestaff

Thanks :) Unfortunately I cant do anything about the fact that the Water Beefalo constantly run into the walls. They always try to return to their home location which is their spawn point. I just teleported them to my base so that I have them more often loaded on screen and they respawn new ones at their spawn point (32:42). Sadly their is no way to relocate a spawn point, so Water Beefalo will ALWAYS return to their home island no matter how often I kill or teleport them. Volt Goats work similar. They need to be pushed all the way, teleporting them doesnt update their new home location. Water Beefalo cant be relocated from their home island because they cant walk in the deep ocean.

This is the kind of base my brain expects to build, then in reality I just build some sort of jumbled garbage with no structure. For real though, this is one of the best mega bases I've ever seen! Well done! Also, did you use any mods with this at all, or is this all 100% vanilla?

Thanks for the kind words :) You just gotta start with small projects and go from there. Dont go into building with the thought of building a huge cathedral. Make mangable goals and the next thing you know 1000 days have passed and you wonder where all that time went. I do have a few mods, mostly graphical (walls visible on the map etc) and control options (controller drop option for keyboard etc). Such an amazing base woah. I am a little curious tho: how did you create that mandrake garden? Thought mandrakes would become items after you pick them up, then how did you move them all to one place. I would love to create a similar garden in my dst world haha.

Thanks for the compliment :) If you place a Pan Flute on the ground at night and use an Deconstrucion Staff on it, the Mandrake that you get back will be planted automatically. That is why there are a few Pan Flutes in my Mandrake Garden, those are all 10%-ones that I dont want to break but rather turn into planted Mandrakes.

Love the base and just started working on a mega base myself using some of your creative ideas if you don't mind. One question I am having is if you are able to merge this world assuming you started before Hamlet? If so, are you planning on making some sort of mega base in Hamlet?

Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it :-) I dont mind if people take inspiration from my base at all. In fact I am happy if I spark motivation to build in others. I take inspiration from other builders too, so no worries here. I just try to give it a personal touch and invent new things that havent been done before. If at 27:55 then you see that his world is in fact merged with Hamlet already. I started my SW/ROG base before Hamlet was released and merged it afterwards with it. There is no options to do it in-game sadly, so I had to do some file changing. Nothing that changed the SW or ROG world in any way but allowed me to merge the 2 world with Hamlet (basicly i "unmerged" my SW/ROG file into a SW and ROG file that then could be merged again). If you are interested in how it works I can give you a link. But Hamlet released long enough that I dont think people even have many worlds from before.

Mostly because I am not exactly in love with some features of the DLC (houses and oincs), so I decided not to include anything from it rather than just a few pieces. I use Hamlet purely for jumping worlds so my sublayers (volcano, caves, ruins) reset.

@@nanowowker144 Not exactly sure what your question is? If you dont have ROG or Hamlet installed, then you cant play them obviously. If you mean you have a SW world now and think about buying both or one of them and want to link either one with a SW world that you started before you bought ROG or Hamlet then there are ways to do that by manually editing some files but its a lot of work and unless your base in already in the thousands of days its simpler to just start a new file.

Hey, so I found this randomly while trying to find other base videos. This is a nice looking base, all things considered. As an aside, I wanted to ask three questions. Does this save exist? Do you still add stuff to it from time to time? Have you heard of the beta patches for this game and have you given them a try?

I still have this save file but I haven't played on it for years now. I stopped somewhere around 6500 days I think. Mostly because of a failed building project and lack of motivation. I currently have no interest to go back to the game. I don't like some of the added stuff in the later parts of the games life cycle from the devs. They tried to make the game more like the Don't Starve Together version and as a result abandoned most of the survial part of the game. Which was a big immersion part for me. I just don't like where they game has ended up.

Mega Base is really cool. One question, though. Did you have to use any Console Commands to add certain stuff? A lot of stuff does seem legit, though certain parts (Like the abundance of trinkets and the Headstone/grave) does kinda make it look like you used the console.

No commands were used, all vanilla. You can get infinite trinkets from trawling and bringing them over from new ROG worlds. The grave shows up when you merge worlds. Its in the location where the last character of that world was located. Its a one time thing.

There is no need to wear one. I have a Meat Effigy in my base (19:32) that will revive me there in case I die somehow (happened every 500 days or so). Also thanks :-) There is a day 6000 video on my channel if you want an update on the base but I havent touched the game in over a year now and most likely wont contiune any time soon.

16:40 Is that little pool just world gen luck or is there a way to make it? I've seen a setpiece with a pool in the middle of a tiny island before, but never a rectangle like this. Also, how do you get so many shipwrecked limited resources into the same world? I don't know much about world hopping and I thought it was only possible to bring resources from RoG or Hamlet, not from a different shipwrecked world.

Yup those 2 pitchfork tiles are just random world gen, most likely happend because it is located very near the coast (only seperated by 2 pitchfork tiles). Such small ponds inside island arent actually that uncommon. Shipwrecked doesnt actually have many non-renewable resources that you cant get in other worlds or are made renewable through other tricks. For example Honeycombs are non-renewable in SW but can be brought over from ROG and Hamlet. And things like Biolumenescence can be multiplied with a Construction Amulet and a Deconstruction Staff (using the Construction Amulet to craft a Buoy with only 1 Biolumenescence and using the Deconstruction Staff to get 2 Biolumenescence back, thus multiplied them). Even plants are renewable through other worlds, or in case of Bamboo Patches and Fancy Berry Bushes, with the Slot Machine. Using the Teleportato also resets every sublayer world (the 3 ROG caves, the 3 ROG ruins and the Volcano) thus making things like Thulecite and Coffee Bushes renewable.

Thanks for the reply. I've been either unlucky with world gens or not thorough with my exploring, but that's good to know. I asked about the resources mostly because of bioluminescence and coral nubbins, you had a lot, but maybe I just underestimated the amount of coral in the world until I saw it all grouped as nubbins and the ones you built back.

@@ch1dd Maybe the coral nubbins seem a bit much, but those are also all in my world (~230). There are currently no more coral reefs in my world besides the small coral farm near my base since I collected them all. Unfortunately, I cant get more of them in this save file but I think they will last me anyway.

Thanks I appreciate it! If you mean the normal Rabbits from 18:35 : You can catch them with a Trap and them bring them over in your inventory from ROG with the Seaworthy. If you mean the Bunnymen at 14:35 : Merged crafting became a thing once Hamlet left its beta, which allows the building of any craftable structure in any DLC.

@@PuppetRivers Merged crafting is possible in any world where Hamlet compatibility is enabled when the world is created. You dont have to ever go to Hamlet for it. Keep in mind though that you still have to unlock the crafting recipes in their respective worlds. So in my case I still needed to go to ROG, enter the caves, get the crafting resources for the Rabbit Hutch and then precraft it at a Alchemy Engine in ROG. After that I got back to SW and placed it down there. After that you can craft new Rabbit Hutches in SW as long as you have the resources at hand.

@@PuppetRivers Congratz, beating the first year of DS is a big achievement. Make sure to put down a Meat Effigy and store some basic resources by the Touch Stones you activated to have some ensurance against losing your world. Sealnado is not garanteed to spawn. In single player seasonal bosses only have a 66% chance to show up in their respective season. Sealnado will often show up at night during lightning storms. You will see him someday, I am sure. I am glad you are taking interest in base building. This isnt my first long term world either. One of my first was with Wigfried up to day 1200 before I stopped. Just play on your own accord and enjoy yourself. That is the most important.

As for the number of Elephant Cactus and Coffee Bushes, I didnt get them all from the same Volcano. You see, when you when you world hop (which means using the Teleportato) in another world you linked to (in my case ROG or Hamlet) then all sublayer worlds (the 3 ROG caves/ruins and the Volcano) get reset! The next time you enter a sublayer world again a new map will be generated which has all the usual stuff again. This means every time I world hop I can plunder the ROG ruins and the SW Volcano all over again. I have world hopped a total of 7 times in ROG and 3 times in Hamlet so far. After all this time I did accumulate a lot of Elephant Cactus and Coffee Bushes.

@@rmartinlopez98 Sure, no problem. Regarding 1. : When you world hop (aka using the Teleportato) only the world you used it in and the sublayer worlds (all 3 caves/ruins and the Volcano) get reset. Once you used it you will spawn in a newly generated map of the world you used it in. The sublayer worlds get newly generated once you enter them (aka going down the Sinkhole or climing the Volcano). In your example you would spawn in a new ROG world and once you enter the caves/ruins or the Volcano those get new maps too. Other mainlayer worlds (in your case SW and Hamlet) are not affected at all. Regarding 2. : You might confuse the Teleportato in Sandbox Mode (aka normal play) with the Teleportato in Adventure Mode. With the latter one you have to choose 4 items which you place into it and will only keep those one you for the next world. In Sandbox Mode however, you keep everything you wear (head slot item, chest slot item, hand slot item) and everything in your inventory (including stuff in backpacks). If you have a savefile with no linked worlds, then the most you can carry are 32 item slots (15 normal inventory slots + 3 clothing items + 14 inventory slots from a Krampus Sack). If you have at least one linked world however, you can store all your items that you want to keep from the world that you want to world hop in, in your linked world. Since your other mainlayer worlds dont get affected you can world hop in the other world and built another Sea- or Skyworthy in your new world to get back to your linked world where you stored all your staff. With this you can amass stuff forever with no limit.

I understood point 1, the part regarding that only the world where u use the teleportato, and the subworlds (I imagine the ruins in Hamlet work like the Volcano and caves acting as some sort os sublayer?) If Im wrong pls correct me Regarding answer 2 I didnt understand all the things of savefiles and linked worlds, I understand the part of resetting your world and all that, but how do you link worlds? If I dont have a linked world, to keep all my items, should I just save them on the layer im not gonna reset? (for example if Im resetting ROG, should I storage everything on shipwrecked?). This point was kind of confusing and I dont understand the whole process, is there any video about this and how to save your files on steam, linking worlds etc? (Sorry for all the bother and trouble, honest, and really thankful in advance if you can help me out ^^) I wanted to do some few answers 3. I want to do a megabase with Wilbur as my main character (I love being a monkey lol), should I start on a Shipwrecked world then go to ROG when I find Volcano and get all the coffee plants and elephant cactus, then go to that ROG layer, reset it when I harvest for example the ruins, and start the grind? 4. Should I change my autumm/Mild season, to last longer? Did you do any preset changes so you could edit your megabase in a more relaxed way? Or did you go for the full experience? Im maybe thinking about doing for example, 40 days of Mild season ( a bit more than regular but not as exagerated than lots) what do you think, what are your recommendations, what did you do...? Klei did introduce merged crafting during the development of the Hamlet DLC. Any world that is Hamlet compatible will have all unlocked crafting recipes available in all linked worlds. For example I did unlock and precraft Rabbit Hutches in ROG and went back to SW where I was now able to put them down. Klei did introduce this feature because people kept bringing up the desire to be able to build pig towns in ROG and SW with the Key to the City from Hamlet. But it works for every other craftable thing too. No, there isnt. But you can build Sea Walls and some other structures in the ocean. You can also build in a Coral Reef or Mangrove biome if you want some different colored water.

Merched crafting became possible through an update of the Hamlet DLC. When creating a world you need to make it compatible with the other two worlds (Hamlet and ROG in my case).

All sublayer worlds generate new when you use a Teleportato in the overworld. I use the Teleportato in Hamlet, which spawns me into a new Hamlet world and as soon as I enter the Volcano, the caves or the ruins a new map will be created for them also.

And yes, world hopping refers to using the Teleportato in a world in order to get more rare resources throught the newly generated world maps.

Steam said I played DS for 1.6k hours but I havent played the game in years now, so I cant say how many hours went into this base. An ingame day is 8 minutes, so the 5k days + a couple hundred days in other worlds give you a rough idea. I also made a 6k days update before I stopped playing the game.

How was your first dry season?

It was probably dry lol. Most people just leave their base right before the volcano erupts. This completely negates the chance of your base getting totalled. Thus making dry season just another plain old season.

Well my FIRST dry season wasnt actually in this world, it was in my older Wigfried world. And it went similar to most people´s experiences I assume: a lot failure followed by death. But I didnt know what I was doing back then and when I started this world with WX-78 I already had a much better grasp on the game. I played meteor doding game a few years and then always used the Volcano Altar of Snackrifice to postbone the erruptions forever.

@@marek4766 I hear ya. The eruptions have killed me many times. Don't Starve is a game where you learn something with every death, for me anyway. The volcano rumbles 3 times before erupting. Just remember to keep track of the rumbles/earthquakes, and head to the ocean or an island lacking in resources to dodge and wait out the dragoon eggs falling everywhere.

The usual stuff except that puddles wont form because they were disabled in world gen option. Not that it would be hard, but I gives me the options to use every turf everywhere without having to worry that spawned mosquitos will attack my mobs that I put in pens. I just want to be able to use all the turf to make it more colorfull intstead of needing to put down the same crafted turfs anywhere.

@@felougabular2652 I am not the biggest fan of the Hamlet DLC. Some parts of it feel rather badly designed to me along with some other problems. For those reason I wont include anything from Hamlet in this mega base. I use Hamlet solely for world hoping to get more rare resource like Thulecite, Elephant Cactus, Fireflies and Honeycombs.

One ingame day lasts 8 minutes, but with pauses, world transition and planing stuff it took probably between 750 and 800 hours so far.

Why no hamlet stuff ?

I am not really in love with the Hamlet DLC as a whole and particularly dont like certain Hamlet structures like Pig Shops. Even if I would include Hamlet exclusive things in my mega base, I wouldnt use certain things because I dislike them. Because of this, I chose to make my mega base SW/ROG exclusive and would use Hamlet only to world hop with the Teleportato.

How to get that much thulecite in solo don’t starve?

If you are wearing a Construction Amulet to craft 5 Thulecite Suits, you only need half of the Thulecite (15 instead of 30). Then use a Deconstruction Staff on all 5 armors to break them into their crafting resources again. This will give you back the full 30 Thulecite. The Construction Amulet also costs 2 Thulecite to craft, so for each amulet and staff you gain an extra +13 Thulecite for as long as you have enough Green Gems to craft them. You can reset the ruins in ROG by jumping worlds which gives you unlimted gems and Thulecite too.

@@peachkiwi3091 If you are using the seaworty or skyworthy in either ROG or Hamlet, then all sublayer worlds (the volcano, the cave and the ruins) will be reset and newly created once you go there again. Which means if you use the skyworthy in Hamlet to create a new Hamlet world and then build a new skyworthy to travel back to your SW world, then travel to your ROG world (which is still the same) with the seaworthy and enter the caves again, a new caves world with new ruins will be created. Which means new materials like Thulecite and green gems.

It sometimes stutters a bit when it loads a lot of different entities at once. Normal gameplay is mostly fine but in this case DS + the recording software took my laptop a bit at certain locations.
