If you guys are lazy and don't want to go to the workbench everytime you need to craft, locate a brainy sprout and craft a brain of thought on the dress tab. It has only 4 crafts available, but it gives access to the volcanic tab. Just make sure to not craft other items with it equipped between the volcanic ones, as it consumes durability even if you already prototyped something.

I use the brain of thought to make the ancient gear. It's easier than having to wait for the nightmare cycle to be over.

Obsidian spear, while really good as a weapon, with the potential of getting better as you fight, is ultimately a very risky choice. Once it gets hot enough, it will overheat you - at this stage you have one of two options: 1. Drop it on the ground to stop overheating, but then youre getting rid of your (possibly - only) weapon. 2. Drop it in the water, for instant cooling down. You can pick it up right afterwards and continue fighting, though you need to be able to use water to do this (RIP in RoG world). As with most everything thats good in DS, obsidian has serious downsides. It will legitimately kill you if you use it (just like the vortex cloak, for different reasons).

You can also see the charge level of obsidian tools by looking at the inventory. The more red the more charge.

My dad got back into Don't Starve Shipwrecked and he has gotten the volcano staff boon many tines but then also finds slot machine very often while also getting obsidian but instead of using the obsidian he dies before he can even set up a base, its sad because of the potential.

Beard, how do you think the Obsidian Armor can be used efficiently? Because the setting attacker on fire mechanic can be very bad in most situations by causing unwanted fires and the armor by itself doesn't seem to be that useful (This can be said by the Fire Packim transformation too, being mostly useful for cooking food). Wanted to know your thoughts about it

I have way too many mods and powers in don’t starve I once broke it by going into normal don’t starve before the sea worthy using debug commands I spawned a cave entrance and entered and left in normal don’t starve and had to spawn a volcano exit
