Fighting with the lantern on the floor makes me super anxious for some reason. Maybe it's having to stay in the small radius of light or the fact that I can't see the %. I only do it if I have to.

Instead of crafting turf, you can save time and resources by using a pitchfork to take sandy turf from one of the two deserts. It has the unique characteristic of allowing you to grass or twigs on it, while preventing Eyeplants from spawning.

Super handy if you're basing in the oasis desert but I still think crafting turf is quicker, especially now that you get 4x turf per craft. Depends on your situation for sure.

Wait, hold on a minute. Sit down. So a Chest is like, 5 boards I’m guessing. And that creates a small box with maybe 9 slots. But if you use only ONE board for flooring, then you have 18 or even MORE than that that you can drop on one square!! Why!? How does that make sense!?

2:40 - "make some gold tools and carry those, instead of carrying the crafting ingredients" I dunno, my buddy uses this approach and the number of times I get asked for some flint... :) I'm the rather-carries-resources type, and just drop the disposable flint tools whenever an inventory slot is needed.

That's fine. Honestly either carry the tools you need OR carry the materials. Just don't carry all the tools AND all the materials! I made the decision to try and carry fewer mats with me recently and I thought I would struggle a lot so I bundled a stack of grass, twigs, logs and rocks just in case. I ended up either not needing them at all or forgetting I had them entirely so I just left them at home and haven't looked back. If you're using flint tools that don't last that long, you probably still need mats on you but for gold and beyond, you could consider carrying less.

Surely they should make chests easier to craft - it needs 3 planks which are 4 logs each so 12 LOGS,,, trees only drop 1-3 logs so in total you need to cut down 4-12 TREES to make A SINGLE CHEST 😭

I'd also suggest doing the stage play whenever it's available, atleast early game. You can get so many things with good luck, my personal favorite early game is getting the miner hat without needing an alchemy engine.

Nah that's a complete waste of time you should be exploring the map, locate glommer for pan flute, hammer pig houses for boards and cut stone, use said boards for bee hives, use cut stones for walls, locate dragonfly and kill him for a very easy first winter. You can easily make miner hat by day 5-6 when you make an alchemy engine by your base

Lighting a tree on fire for light and warming a thermal stone is such powerful and valid strat, but, surprisingly, a lot of people prefer building campfires. ig this comes from the rapid spread of fires in DS single player, but they don’t realize it’s been toned down in DST?

it’s funny you said that we should go for the shadow sword or smth like that bc it’s nightmare fuel and living wood but that the issue would be not being able to get those but i actually do have the ingredients for it but i have no idea where to get the red and blue gems for that one crafting table

My computer isnt the greatest, so I cannot run Caves without lagging pretty bad, any tips for servers that ..don't have Caves?

That's a real shame. You can still do a lot of stuff without caves but it can be limiting in some key areas as well. Have you considered joining public servers? Maybe get a friend to host one?

Try "Don't starve alone" mod, it basically stops all activities in the cave if you're not in it and vice versa but the catch is you can only play solo
