First hotfix for the update: forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/116601-game-update-400698/ Few more things folks, some additional notes and another heads up really; We can use Abby's flower on herself to "call back" Abigail until further notice while gaining some sanity along the way! And note that again, a lower health Wendy means more damage for Abigail so that combined with the choleric tonic could potentially lead to upwards of 70 damage which is... still not as great as you might think... Third thing, use heals on flower in inventory to avoid getting stomped out there potentially. Fourth thing, ghost are now non-hostile to Wendy so great stuff there! I'll be honest, this is by far the weakest rework in my mind. I really like the pipspook stuff and I'm sure I'll love the skins when we look at them tomorrow however my hope rested on the buffs and I believe Klei missed the mark HARD on them. How horrifying it must have been to not only lose his brother, but first one of his daughters (died as we l know) and then have the second disappear into the constant in her sleep where she apparently heard ragtime music playing as per usual of Maxwell related disappearances.

Been messing with the update for a little while now and here are some tidbits. 1. If Wendy has around 20-30 health, Abigail can almost solo frog rain. 2. Abigail + bush hat or snail armor thing is awesome. You can sit at 1 hp and watch her roll over lesser to mid-level mobs. 3. With a high degree of skill, you can toggle on and off her aggro mode to make her kite enemies, including big bads. It's hard but it's awesome. 4. The sisturn sanity aura is op. She is way more fun now, highly recommend trying her

This rework feels.. weird, because although the feeling of the character has stayed, i found that the new tabs and stuff don't do much for Abigail, yeah sure a few potions to give buffs but it doesn't give that feeling of power like Willow does with her giant bear, i wish they gave Abigail new attacks, never ending ''upgrades'' to Abigail (Potions should have done that) similar to WX with the gears. She just isn't strong enough to justify going through all the troubles using materials (mosty for the Sisturn even though it's my favorite part of her rework since this sanity boost is way too good) and gathering Mourning Glories. I'd give this rework a 6/10 maybe, clearly not Klei's best work

They ought to make Wendy a support character. The sisturn already pushes her in that direction, that combined with the low base damage and reliance on allies would seem to indicate a role as a support class. But she just, doesn't really have anything for anyone other then Abigail. They ought to just make the potions available for use on other players. That would give Wendy a fine role. But I guess they feel that would take away from Abigail. Perhaps some of the lesser potions like thorns aura and speed could be used on party members, or maybe they just change the duration to be much shorter. Or maybe they could even make them effect neutral ghosts and recruit them.

Why not use the speed in conjuction to the flower command to have Abigail kite bosses? Have her attack a bit, call her back as if you would normally dodge, then set her on the boss again. The extra movement would allow her to kite even easier than Wendy. Not to mention 600 health means that an accident in callback wont be the end of her.

Hear me out Perhaps, by some means, Abigail was transformed to the Constant and, of course, died. You have to remember that the reason people become ghosts (even wx) in the game is because they are Bound to the constant and not allowed to pass on. Perhaps the reason we see abigail as a ghost is because she is somehow unable to pass on because of that? How or why isn’t very clear, but I think this would explain a lot more than just ‘living beyond the grave because of a sisterly bond’. If that was the case, I think Winona would like a word. Just a random thought. It’s more likely she just died normally though.

I said that I thought this rework would live and die by Wendy's new craftable Abby buffs and I think I was right. On one hand I *really* appreciate the fact that Wendy's still recognisable and essentially has just become stronger instead of a complete overhaul like Woodie got. On the other, I still think that Abby needs to be more useful against boss enemies and should've gotten an Elixir focused around such purposes instead of still being the best™ at the _very specific_ situation of clearing trash mobs. IMO Klei shouldn't have created several Elixirs for combat purposes and tried to balance them out, but instead should've made several Elixirs for different purposes for Abby. Here's one that makes her snag items for you and take them back to you (or maybe even gives her a backpack), here's one that removes her AoE in exchange for more health and damage (so, bossfight mode), here's one that increases her light aura, gives her an insulation aura, increases her passive health regen and lasts permanently until the next elixir for general-purpose survival, and so on.

I don't know how I feel about her low health mechanics. I love the idea, but it doesn't seem like enough to me as a trade-off. I would have also liked a system similar to wx78's, where you can upgrade her with an item. Actually, that urn is perfect, just tweak it so you could add items into it to enhance the ghost's stats. This even balances itself out because of the cost of the weapons. Something like the spear is only slightly stronger, while the dark sword would bring her up to 60. Though that might be too strong with armor, you could just amp up the cost with specific ghost items made from the normal equipment and morning glories.

I tried to play as her today. Man, what a ride. Just at the beginning of my run I found two spots with clockworks, a spot with a bunch of killer bee hives and Bee Queen, a Dragonfly desert, a biom with many ponds, a swamp, a cemetery, got into a fight with three Poison Birchnut trees, and that's just most that I can remember. I honestly think the defense potion is bugged. I've tested every combination imaginable with a friend and it doesn't seem to do anything at all. Other than that we've also tested abi against hounds, splumonkeys and the queen bee herself with a low health Wendy running around and I've gotta say I'm impressed. Abigail can singlehandedly deal with all bee queen spawns by herself (and the strong healing options used directly on the flower from a distance).

Some things i'd like to mention/add after messing around with the rework, the bubble shield that abby has is actually already a passive she gets just for existing, its far more helpful than it seems cause now mobs that can't be stunlocked (mass frogs, spider warriors) can't just brute force their way through her health. The defense tonic gives what seems to be an absolutely MASSIVE (klei plz) five percent damage reduction and increases the effect of the shield bubble. if you're good at combat (ie can you recognize simple attack patterns and have lag not smite you) then chilling at 1 health with the 20 hp/sec tonic you and abi can smack most any boss in a pretty quick fashion.other than that the passive 2 hp per second tonic is by far the most useful one for general use

I don't why folk keep saying that she can tackle bosses now because that is just not as true as you guys think. Sure, you can call her back if things get dicey no but then what? You need to run away, wait for her to heal or do it yourself and then repeat. Sounds excruciatingly, painstakingly stressful for no reason. Just make these "buffs" better and then things will roll in the right direction.

As a Wendy main, it is about time. I like most of the changes, except maybe the suicide run damage output increase feels forced and I feel the HP for Abigail is still a bit low. Not sure if The Beard agrees with me on that. Wendy/Abigail have a special place in my heart for personal reasons and I'm sure they'll buff her up a bit!

However I only seen you use the potions on Abigale herself and not the flower, nor did you mention that if you use the potion on the flower then it will give the effects to abigale.

Vigor Morris is incredibly useful if you prop up Abigail next to a butterfly farm and egg her on You can rack up stacks of butterfly wings very quickly with that speed and the wide free roam. And hey, it makes butterflies even easier for farming Wortox souls than before

She can catch birds sometimes without the speed boost. The reason to craft a second flower is for Abigail's reskins.

She absolutely cannot catch birds at a reasonable rate and even still will not kill them without player input or sacrifice and yes, this was filmed before we talked skins but that is player driven - the idea of multiple flowers now serves no gameplay purpose so everything still stands as is.

I loved the rework, I watched Wendy's short animation when it came out and found it sweet. with that said I should try Wendy while playing by myself and also with my friend as we work well together (who's a good Wortox player), if my friend is up for more of DST.

I'm a Wendy main, and I love this new update and the new changes Klei brought, but I will have to adapt to the new damage system. Before, my role in my server was to gather monster meat via farming spiders with Abigail. I used to wait until night, grab some log armor and a miner's helmet, and I would use Abigail's 40 damage per hit to slaughter hordes of spiders. I don't exactly want to be at low HP all the time so I'm gonna have to figure out a better way. Still, thanks Klei! The new features are great and we got to see Abigail for the first time

The shield potion gives her one a bubble that can take 1 attack without receiving any damage regardless of the attack, it restarts every 4 seconds i believe but it's pretty effective sometimes

If I'm honest I think it was due to me not really enjoying this update all that much. Of course I needed to make sure I showcased as things as best as I could but that is what I ALWAYS have to do for guides so that ain't anything new. My lack of affection for the changes made things boring throughout the video production I think.
