Meet the newly discovered fourth transformation of Chester that occurs when you feed him with nine papyruses: Music Chester! He looks just like good old Chester albeit more square and with a crank on its side.
Don't Starve Together is a cooperative survival game by Klei Entertainment with very cool hand-drawn cartoony graphics where you are dropped into a wonderful yet unwelcoming world in which you have to explore and do your best to survive against a plethora of things such as - but not limited to: the hunger, the cold, the heat, hounds, frogs, bees, mosquitoes, weird spiky tentacles, the hunger, fire, giant walking trees, angry mechanical chess pieces that want you dead, your own insanity, and, oh, did I mention the hunger? Together with my friends Willow ("I assure you, there is no way this forest fire I started will reach our camp"), Wigfrid ("If it moves, I shall fight it") and Webber ("I HATE those pigs"), we tried and tried again, and eventually managed to survive an ENTIRE year! Well, once. And then we died of hunger. Or a giant, I can't really remember, but definitely some of that thing about not starving. At least we always had our nice little walking dog-like hairy chest along with us. You most definitely should try it with some friends! (or at least people that won't try to steal your beefalo hat or set you on fire)
In the game, each character's voice is represented by an instrument that is played when they speak such as a flute or a trumpet. To me, the game's theme sounds like a sort of conversation between those characters where each musical phrase involves different people. Listen to it carefully, you can always hear three or four voices in each one, with small interjections and exclamations here and there! That would obviously not work on a music box, but I tried to keep around two melodic lines per phrase.
I actually started this arrangement two years ago and had to come back to it several times until I was happy with the result. I was so glad when I finally managed to get a good take after messing it up near the end a grand total of seven times in a row! The chesterising of the music box was also a ton a fun 😁
The original score of the game was composed by Vince de Vera, Jason Garner, and Emmett Hall.
Arranged for a 30-notes music box with MusicBox Composer.
