Thanks for listening, I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊 I mostly make arrangements of tunes that have some personal relevance, ones getting games or movies I really liked (though some are quite old or obscure 😅), but I'm always opened to suggestions =) But I have no idea what FNAF 3 is! Is it an anime, a video game?

@BoxedMusic It's a video game called Five Nights at Freddy's (FNAF) that has a very convoluted story. The franchise has been around since 2014 with new games still coming out. I've been following it since the first game came out, which makes me feel really old lol.

I do this as a hobby and only have this one mechanism (I made the box around it too) so I can't sell it, but I'm more than happy to provide the file to punch your own paper strip and give you pointers if you want to make it for yourself 😉 The mechanism is ~40€/$, and you'd then need maybe 2/3 hours of intense patience and punching 😄

I'm in the middle of moving at the moment, my computer is currently in a box hidden amongst many other boxes. Once I get it up and running again in a couple of weeks I'll upload the file and let you know 😃 I'm the meantime, have a look at 30-notes music box mechanisms. A seller named Wingostore sells them online, just don't get one with brass gears as they are noisy =)

Glad you enjoyed it! I do listen to it from time to time when I'm feeling melancholic, it does help. @@BoxedMusic so uh, crazy story...i actually did finish it lol. i only wanted to do up to 0:42, so i managed to figure out how to piece it together by closely looking at the second part and trimming off the extra notes. i might be a little insane lol. but i decided to keep my comment up for anyone else who would want to do this themselves. thank you so much for sending the link! i'm sure it will be of much use to someone less crazy than me

Very glad you had the courage and patience to make your own, congratulations! I don't have any technique unfortunately other than not putting my camera too close to the box. Also, there are mechanisms with either plastic or brass gears, and the brass ones are VERY noisy when you play. I bought one thinking they'd be more durable but I ended up not using them because of that. If that's your case, consider getting another one with the white plastic gears instead. And finally, about the paper strip, I used to stitch together lots of small ones. But my life changed when I found out that you can order giant rolls of 15 to 50 m of printed strips on Etsy or Amazon! It's way simpler to use those if you like punching lengthy music box melodies 😃

@@BoxedMusic many thanks! I record using a microphone with noise reduction, might as well try getting it a bit further away from my music box. Thanks for the advice on the larger rolls, stitched ones are trickier to play properly :)
