I had years of hating my job, hated going outside with people, hated people visiting, missing grandkids birthdays, shutting myself away for Christmas etc. Overdoing exercise by training 5 days a week bodybuilding, along with steroid use. Taking up kick-boxing to get the anger out. God have I pissed off a lot of people along the way. Now at 71 I may at last got to enjoy what’s left of life.

I was put on Fluoxatine for what was called “low mood” I also saw counsellor. It was only a long time after that the term ADHD was used for my condition and placed on Lisdexamfetamine. I’m coming up to 71 and spent 11 years on the wrong medication being Fluoxatine and only now am I beginning to see some light at the end of a long and miserable tunnel.

I’ve been diagnosed with MDD and put on antidepressants. But I also have all of your symptoms apart from the anger issues. But always felt so much anxiety. I’m also dyslexic which also points towards adhd. But in Australia it’s very hard to get diagnosed as an adult with adhd. They need school reports etc. I don’t know why they make it so difficult. I’m so happy that you have finally figured your condition out.

WOW!! mate you have been through the wringer in your life and I really feel for you and what you have been through, I hope that the meds continue to help and when you see the doc he/she actually listens to your side and what you have been through then get you on the right meds🤞👍 Not sure if you remember but I said before that I was put on antidepressants for my stress and depression what I take is Sertraline which I've been on for over 20 years but I was in a very dark place when my wife passed away very suddenly in 2015 so I went back to the docs and she doubled my dose of Sertraline and put me on beta blockers, I don't know what beta blockers do to the brain but I was like a zombie, if you watched the Walking Dead on prime then I was that person. I was taken of them and left with the Sertraline which I've been on with the double dose since 2015. When you said that they dumb the mind that is how I feel most of the day, my emotions are on a level playing field I don't feel happy nor sad or angry or exited these days but feel like I'm just existing🤷‍♂ Anyway Rob good luck at the docs and I hope you get sorted👍

Thanks Rob, everything you have mentioned is eerily similar to my experiences , from the doctor dishing out AD's, fish eye lens, being monged out, anxiety, frustration, avoidance of shopping and crowds, will i get a parking space etc, what really stood out for me is when you mentioned about not having that up feeling and you needed something to get you out of that flatline feeling. i don't have up periods, i'm basically flatlined or dip lower if that makes sense.

Dred, so sorry you have ADHD. i've had PTSD from life's many beatups. The only advice I can give is figure out who you really are. I do enjoy your videos of airbrushing. Find joy in the little things in life and of course seek proffesional help.

I'll be 50 in October and it's only been a few days ago that I started talking about my procrastination issues plus how distracted and forgetful I get, this is the first time I thought maybe this is what I have along with PTSD from being flown out the passenger windshield 60ft during a car accident while 4 months pregnant with my son. We both survived however ended up in wheelchairs. My son has cerebral palsy while I'm a paraplegic so I serious need to sign up for a doctor but I keep procrastinating. Thx for the video.

I understand you perfectly Dred, I was on medication for two years until I was diagnosed with hyperactivity, I retired from my job at the age of 47 (I was a police officer) one day while watching KZbin I discovered an airbrushing video and one thing led to another and that was the way discover your channel, today I am much more focused and better, but attacks of anger and anger for no reason appear for simple things, but I realize them and I can control them more, greetings and thanks for the channel, I learned a lot with you.

I had a real struggle getting the correct stimulant dosage. Adhd symptomes increased whether I went up or down on dosage. Turned out on a low dose I was under dosed obviously but higher dosages gave me a racing heart rate. The pressure and anxiety from my racing heart felt similar to adhd. Combined the stimulant with a beta blocker and it worked liked magic. It is still a journey trying to learn all the life structure skills I never learned on adhd but we are getting there. :) ( Thank you very much for the channel. I’m getting a HS ultra 2024 on your recommendation in a few weeks as a first airbrush. Looking forward to following your tutorials.)

@@dredfxcustompaint Ye I get that, the whole process of working through doctors, finding the right one while you’re struggling sucks. But ye, know you walk with a community now and whatever you need: advice, empathy, silence we are here and we’ve walked the road you’re on now, so you can know, however long it takes, the destination exists and our footprints prove it. Thank you very much, I’ll definitely take you up on the offer when I get stuck. I’m so excited for the airbrush to arrive(though i’ll likely have to wait for my birthday to open the package.xD) so I can follow one of your drawing tutorials. Regards

I’m glad you’ve found the right thing for you, I’m just hoping that one day I might be able to experience the same. Slowly giving up on the Drs, I was put onto a waiting list for ADHD assessment after talking to them, that was 3 years ago and I’m still waiting, whenever I work myself up to try and talk to the Drs about it I’m just instantly dismissed, they’re not interested. One day I might get there but for now I will continue fighting through my days, struggling to find that thing let’s my mind focus for just 10 minutes. Thank you for sharing your story, it’s given me some hope.

You poor man - I hear you. Looking back on my life? Very akin to your experiences, such a waste in many ways. I'm getting no formal/NHS help (sporadic at best) with my challenges - which are many. I've done so much self help over 20-30 years. NHS keep abandoning me. Add to all of that FMS pain/fatigue, Long Covid, C-PTSD, HSP? Aging parents, broken Britain, the PsyOp of the PLANdemic too? Today? My head feels like it'll explode, it won't shut up, I usually keep a lid on it. Meds? My body seems highly allergic now, especially post SARS2 Covid infection. Painkillers and a few other bits and bobs, anything else is a 'mare. I hope that your journey nets better results now buddy💜✌️👍😊

always a pleasure to listen to you and others expressing their thoughts. As mentioned, not ADHD with me, but I can relate to many issues that you've experienced. I struggle with crowds and shopping areas, I like the quiet and I'm luck to live in a quiet area. I'd like to mention that modern life is designed to be depressive, work/home life is very hard and with all the pressures of economic struggles that is the worst, and then you have ill health on top. Sincerest wishes to everyone, take, stay in the moment. Be Humble : Promote Happiness

I too was put on antidepressants years ago for anxiety and I had to eventually come off of them gradually on my own after them changing the meds a few times and changing the dosage. I still suffer with anxiety and just don't seem to be able to ever get things done that other people can do with no problem. I too have problems with reading and have to read over and over and over. I was always told that I just wasn't very good in school with reading comprehension. I wonder if this isn't what the problem has been all along? What medication do they have you on if you don't mind me asking? I'm gonna have to do some research on this. I've tried and tried to explain my issues but I always thought that I'm just not very good at explaining either. I have to break everything down into the simplest of steps and terms, not because I think my target audience is beneath me but because Im afraid of not getting it right. If I get interrupted I have to start all over because I can't remember exactly where I was. Interruptions will also agitate me and start my anxiety to start kicking in. Then I get frustrated and angry and have to just walk away. I hope you have gotten a handle on your's. I know how mine feels. Maybe I can show a doctor what I'm talking about with your videos. I heated the antidepressants! They made everything worse in my opinion. Made my hands shake constantly. Not to the point that it was noticable unless I was trying to do anything precise, like drawing or airbrushing. That's one reason I got off the antidepressants. I couldn't take it anymore.

Depression is an Expression of a Repressed Unlived Feeling. When i thought about it, there was truth in it. I didn't suffer as early as you. You are doing well in your self training. Your being mindfull, and that will help get you away from it. Good man pleased for you. As for the post, i was on agency and had to request a transfer. Damn Snowflake people.
