Don't Throw It Away!! We Show You How To Sharpen Drill Bits [LET'S DO IT]

It's happened to all of us, and probably multiple times. You're finishing drilling the "last" hole and you hit a nail and dull the drill bit. It doesn't matter whether it's a twist drill, spade bit, or even a hole cutter. We show you how to sharpen those bits, in the field, so you can finish the job at hand. A simple file will do the trick, or better yet, you can do what we did and use a 3" cordless sander. Either way, taking 5-minutes to dress up the right surfaces will get you back to cutting.

Can you give a recommendation on die grinder abrasive wheel type for this? 80-grit? Great how-to!

One other trick for blades that have large nicks is to grind the entire edge down flat to the same level so all the nicks are gone. It will be very dull at that point of course but then you can grind the blade profile back and hone it so it's a new edge without any nicks.

I wish there was a procedure for renewing the teeth on a multi tool blade. Drill Dr could make a fortune if they could come up with something.

Their is, you can cut new teeth or touch up the current ones with a file or tool like used in this video.

Tim, I enjoy Your Reviews ! BUT, PLEASE wear some Gloves when You are using the Abrasive Wheel to dress the Bit. One slip, catch or “stupid moment “ can have that Wheel crawl right over Your Hand and all nice Reviews, not to mention work can stop for a long time, at least until the Stitches are out.
