I use nail polish to "paint". It has a shine and there are a lot of polishes to color match. Sometimes, a touch of clear eases the texture

I love all that you do and all of your ideas for years. I’ve been Thrifting finding smalls like that that are broken. I find it a challenge to disguise it or incorporate it in my designs there’s times if it’s a Santa and his half of his heads off, I work with it and I make like a succulent planner out of it. It’s hilarious, I have a figurine with no arm/hand I have her standing next to a Christmas tree in my assemblages or something in the design to disguise where you really don’t notice. I’ve had some really neat vintage ceramic Christmas trees that the tops of course being pointed are going to crack and some didn’t even have much if the top , made snow caps, and made it look realistic with the glitter and so forth and you would think that the way it came. But I love doing that. I love the fun of it and you inspire me so much and to take on challenges I would’ve never thought I would do!😀

I think of all the years ago that things would end up in the dump somebody would break something and never even think about trying to restore it. The advantage we have now is we have KZbin with talented people like you, Yvonne! And the availability of all the neat paint techniques and paints and stains That we can get online in the store so we can do these things because years ago when I started doing this, they just didn’t have much to work with, it was a lot of trial and error but we’re so fortunate now to have such great teachers and resources! Thank you for sharing your talent With us!

I collect the little ceramic Christmas figures. I absolutely agree to try to repair the figurine if you can. I have a couple little angels missing a wing or halo or what ever but they are still beautiful to me. It is getting harder & harder to add to my collection but I will keep looking. Perfect restoration segment! They all turned out great….love the kitty! And the Tater!❤ Thought…I buy a package of emery boards (nail files)(not the metal ones) from the dollar store and use them when I need to sand down something that I can’t get a regular piece of sandpaper around or in….they’re really basically little sandpaper files anyway!😊

Okay! This was a GREAT video! It made me remember about my CA glue, my little green pointy faced Christmas elf can’t lean on his elbows right now, and super glue was an epic fail! That cat 😮 WOW WOW WOW!!!!!! Absolutely loved it! I ran to bid on Santa! 😂 THEN WE HAVE THE BENCH!!!!!!! That is GORGEOUS!!!!! It would be a STEAL in my neck of the woods for $500!!!!!!! Oh… super glue… trying to get that to work was always a nightmare.. glue everywhere but on the object.. lol😂 Thank you for bidding.. His imperfections tell his story and add to his character and charm being that old of a piece 🎅🏼❤️ Furniture is still on a slow… almost dead stop selling here in this area still. You will seldom find vintage red pieces that have been fired in the kiln. It's called cold painted. Red used to be difficult to fire because the color changed or it bubbled or went white...or...or...or. Never put any tape or adhesive on vintage paint, especially red, because it will likely pull off along with the tape. I fix things when i can so im excited to see how you do it. The cat tail turned out amazing! The bench was gorgeous! Well, everything was wonderful, I learned so much!

When I repair items with chips or cracks I use spackle to fill, make sure it's smooth and paint over it with clear nail polish. Then paint with acrylic paints that I meticulously match and end with the clear polish. Usually works out great for me
