Years ago we painted old wooden shelves so they would look new. Now we paint new stuff so it will look old. Back then we patched the rips in our jeans. Now we buy them already ripped! I just found you a couple of days ago and am really enjoying learning from you. I love to do small projects. I have a sign that says, "Sanding is my Cardio".

Unlike some others on KZbin Love the professional way everything is addressed I’ve unfollowed a certain person they never finish off items just slap paint on think it’s a waste of paint and time to do the back or bottom of furniture I just don’t understand if you want top dollar and are proud of your work why would you not be complete the item Fab job all round

I admire your pet peeve about tags, stickers, etc. And finishing the back of items. You are right it makes a difference. Even re-doing an item for yourself, by leaving the previous tags, stickers, especially Dollar Tree labels, or not concerned about a finished back ruins the quality of the item. This is one of the reason you are successful, You complete the makeover process. Keep up the details, it does make a difference. Thanks for sharing.

I do have a question though, when mixing your paint do you save any leftover paint in a bottle? Also, does it make a difference if you use the brands of paint that you use or can we use any paint? The left over Milk paint? No it can't be saved it will get extremely thicken up unuseable. Of course one can use any brand of paint they want.

I have noticed sometimes you use the powder milk paint & sometimes you use the paint. Do they differ in the texture they provide or does it depend on the surface you are working with? Do you prefer 1 over the other?

I like cubbies too. Things are organized but in sight. When you were undoing the tape on the cubbies, I was calling put, “wait, Weather Defense.” I thought the paint inlays went over wet paint but what you did worked well. Great flips as usual!

It’s a totally different look. The milk paint since it’s porous, soaks in the wax. Giving it a more authentic aged look. I’m going for an aged look.

Question. Would you cover how you calculate a projects final retail value? I know IOD papers and all the sprays, paste coating are not inexpensive these days. This box had a goodwill price of $7.99, I try to fill for 4-5 times my expense. Forget invested time. Recouping that rarely happens. If you have the cost of materials to bring it up to a retail value.....I'm just curious if you would do a video on this topic? Thanks
