Thanks so much! Just over here trying to pull out of a summertime slump. Maybe it's just July... Haha!

Can we use heat while driving on ev mode

It took over a year but I finally got my hands on one. Looks are subjective but I love its looks. And I thought the Sportage was an ugly sibling. And I hate driving CVTs. As for power and acceleration, that's not my thing. Comfort and the drive is what I really love about it. Ultimately, the decision making is based on the perfect EV range for everyday use for work. I average 6 litres of gas per week for a to-&-fro journey of 30 km each direction plus short side trips. My alternate choice was the RAV4 Prime. The deal breakers for the R4P were the 3 year wait list, the price for equivalent specs and, most of all, the EV/ICE transition - which is almost unnoticeable in the Tuscon PHEV and jarring in the R4P.

You make some great points regarding intended use as well as subjective looks. I think as a total package, this Tucson is pretty fantastic. I'm hoping to get behind the wheel of the Sportage soon, and I'm curious if the slightly larger interior dimensions will further benefit my giant family. For most people, looks aside, the Tucson will be more than enough. Thanks for watching!

And why do we need buttons if we can do everything from the steering wheel or with voice commands? 🤷🏻♂️
@jax10792 жыл бұрын
This is true. Don’t disagree, but I think the same automakers that get a bit fiddly with infotainment also neglect to create an optimized alternative via the steering wheel. I’d prefer simple functions that amount to on/off settings to remain easily accessible via a button. I’m also not convinced many automakers are there yet when it comes to voice commands, at least not in the league of Apple or Amazon.

Funny, I thought the new styling was a huge improvement. So much that we ordered one.
@jax10792 жыл бұрын
Nice! I think you'll really like it. I mean, the exterior styling certainly isn't the worst thing in the world; I just think Hyundai swung a little too far into the weird territory, but they're starting to pull back. The refreshed Palisade looks pretty great, and they're finding ways to tone down the Elantra's awful face. It tough when your sibling (Kia) is consistently churning out excellent and interesting looking vehicles. That said, I'm in the incredible Ioniq5 this week, and I think it looks FANTASTIC. Thanks for watching!

Even the blind can see the Tucson has much cleaner lines and a more balanced design than cousin Sportage. Both outside (front and back) and inside.

False. But I know people who like the Tucson so I could certainly be wrong 😂

Is most non Tesla charging station worked for two hours charging And how does the 1.6 engine hybrid plug-in reliability ? Thanks for a great review
@jax10792 жыл бұрын
Any non Tesla level 2 chargers will work. And it’s probably too early to determine long term reliability on the engine, but remember you’re covered by Hyundai’s excellent warranty for quite some time. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

So when this review 1st starts the drive you say that the A/C was on and blowing hard. Does that mean that the gas motor was running and that you were not running on EV?

I’m late to the party on this one. Enjoyed the video. Definitely like what I am seeing from Hyundai and Kia these days. I agree that the Kia is better looking though.

😆"This is the nerd that gets the girl, I mean look at those braces (front grill)!" Omg your commentary is hilarious! Tbh I still come back to checkout reviews on the Tucson because I know by reputation Toyota has great reliability and resale value but I really wanted an SUV that offers the features I want for the price I'm paying. Time will tell if this Tucson will be reliable enough after 3+ years or if it can even make it past that. But even for a base model RAV4 hybrid the price was just ridiculous and to get the features I want, stacked up the out the door price. So Hyundai/Kia is winning in terms of affordability with standard luxury features.
@jax10792 жыл бұрын
Thank you! And yes, the Tucson's interior and feature set is light years ahead of Toyota's and it feels every bit of its price (whereas the RAV4 feels like... a RAV4). Toyota isn't standing still, though. I'm attending a luncheon with them tomorrow where they'll be discussing electrification and future plans, so stay tuned. Might have some more content regarding that topic. Thanks for watching!

Ford has a better built quality than Tucson lol, the escape also has two wheel drive (better mpg) andddddd the autonomous driving on the fire escape are updated over the air like Tesla 😮 hands free coming in the foreseeable future
@jax10792 жыл бұрын
Based on what? Are you talking about quality or reliability? When it comes to interior quality, the Tucson is far ahead of the Escape, which feels much more basic by comparison. I have driven Blue Cruise, and it's fantastic on the highway. If the Escape gets a version of that it will certainly be a selling point. Until then, I think the Tucson wins over the similar spec Escape. Thanks for watching.
@nyrubin2 жыл бұрын
@@jax1079 The escape does come with Blue cruise lol, I own the phev it looks good at a glance, but everything is built so cheap on it, interior paint chips from barely anything going over it. and the rugs and the placement of all the cuts its so bad. also it has a bunch of missing finish trim pieces, annoying when your looking at them constantly and then as far as reliability on Hyundai doesn't have the greatest track record so I would go for a Ford Escape (the Rev 4 and the Ford Escape were made together in a partnership with Toyota and Ford.
@jax10792 жыл бұрын
@@nyrubin I’d take the Hyundai’s longer warranty over the Escape’s lack of build quality. Also, I’ve never heard that the Escape and RAV4 Prime were codeveloped in any way. What’s your source on that? The RAV4 Prime is vastly superior in pretty much every way, but its aging interior and lack of tech is why I’d pick the Hyundai. (Actually, I’d pick the new Kia Sportage plug in since it’s bigger than the Tucson.)
