Starling is nothing g short of brilliant. We travel all around Australia camping and we can make phone calls, FaceTime to our kids and grandkids, check emails and watch any programs anywhere. It’s as good as a satellite phone. We should be investing in the future technology now. NBN has been crap from the start and still the same now.

Work mate of mine lives out regional west NSW and he has no NBN or 5G at all, even his 4G phone is spotty in areas. He went out and bought the Starlink setup and now has superfast internet.

I'm on starlink and I think its great but I'd have to ask, can it handle that many users. At the moment it's $139 a month heaps of people won't want to pay that much for internet.. and considering they release it slowly to more users and spread them out can it handle sudden influx of every house in every area outside of the cities?

If the Government makes a deal with Starlink, they can partly subsidise it, instead of spending the extra $4 billion on new NBN expansion works, put it towards that. Besides that NBN is losing money, it lost $696 MILLION in the first half of 2024, more than $200 MILLION MORE than the first half of 2023, its flushing money down the drain.
