This is the only video anyone needs to see about winter gloves. I've tried pretty much everything that RJ has including multiple winter gloves (goretex and non goretex), Rukka Lobster, silk inner gloves and bar muffs. The only thing that really works other than heated gloves are bar muffs but they look hideous and I never got used to not being able to look at the control switches. As RJ says no (unpowered) winter glove works below 8 to 10 degrees C. I suffer from cold hands during the winter and only heated gloves were able to fix that problem. Well done indeed for taking the time to do this video.

Standard winter gloves are actually fine for most people...as they're not going to be riding a naked through winter. If you really want to be a glutton for punishment, ie looking good through winter on a naked then err good luck to you. Most others I suspect will simply use some combination of muffs, heated grips/clothes, hand guards, winter gloves and are happy. Taking away the windchill prior to it hitting your hands is the biggest factor and that's actually easily achieved.

i was working in a salmon factory in Alaska, we used to wear 3 layers of gloves. First you put latex gloves, on top of them wool gloves and on top you put the alaskan fisherman gloves. Even if the top layer leaks, latex gloves will keep you dry and warm for a bit, at least till your next break.

@@jakemills7612 Good morning Jake, congrats to you too on passing your MOD2 👍🏻 The gloves that I have are the 2260CE. I will be honest and say that I've not really used them that much as I didn't have a bike last year so have only used them this last month. I originally bought them to save my hands whilst doing the MOD2 as it was bitterly cold and they were faultless to the envy of the instructors 🤣 As with all winter gloves though, they are bulky and a little cumbersome but where the PARAGON come into their own is where the heat is directed onto the back of the hand. I have heated grips on my bike ('21 MT09) so with both the grips on and and gloves my hands are encompassed with heat 😊 The only gripe is the longevity of the battery and when the gloves are on high heat, they don't last very long so managed to buy a pair of spare batteries which I swap out, one pair for the commute to work and the other for the journey home. I have heard of a few issues with the 2260CE though on a few forum chats and have been know to fail so I would personally try to hold out for the 6's. I hope that helps mate, happy/safe riding 👍🏻

Extremeties get cold due to the body core cooling, so blood flow to those will be reduced to preserve core temperature. I have used an Exo2 Stormrider heated bodywarmer, plugged into the bike, for years and rarely need to anything bulkier than autumn gloves + heated grips. It does not look like Exo2 make these anymore, which is a shame, as their rubberised heating-element system was far superior.

Gerbing has other models that are less bulky. If you run the cable through your vest and attach it inside it is not in the way. Plugging in the 2 gloves and into the bike only adds like 20 secs. Can understand that if you have 7 bikes you may not want to wire them all :) You can also put the battery in your vest inside pocket and hook up to that. I tried with batteries inside the gloves themselves but found that way too bulky.

@royaljordanian have you ever tried putting handguards on to block the wind? Seems like it would make any glove a lot warmer. That is part of my plan for this winter.

I ride until it's below 0 degrees Celcius here in Canada, sometimes even below that, and I just use normal summer leather motorcycle gloves with very thin wool gloves on top. For some reason that works really well and doesn't affect my riding at all. I wasted $80 on snow machine gloves once... what a waste of money that was... could not ride with them at all even though my hands were really warm.
