Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time KZbinr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. @@idalia799 tbh, I'm not a super fan of their complexion products (foundation, concealer, powder) but personally I don't think you can go wrong with ANYTHING for the eyes, powder or cream blushes, and they have a lip cream that's similar to the k beauty blotted lip- style lip colors that is really good. I have several eyeshadow palettes that I think are better than high end.

The other influencers I follow, mostly because they have similar skin types and tones to mine, do tend to concentrate on department store and luxury brands that I wouldn't spent the money on. The only exception might be for foundation or concealer If I can't find a satisfactory drugstore product. Then I might buy a department store brand. But NEVER a luxury brand! $100 and over for 1 ounce of foundation? NO. I can afford it, but it's just ridiculous! $39 for a blush, when there are lots of decent drugstore products for $15 or less! Same for mascara - there are plenty of decent drugstore products. And Jen is showing us drugstore products, which is helpful to me.

@@aundrealauzon They do ship to Canada but that's a shame about duties. We don't pay customs on anything under $200 if we order internationally, so it makes it easier to figure it out. I found this calculator where you can estimate how much it will be so it's not a surprise.

Milani's holiday collabs have a better formula than thier regular shadows do. JuicyJas's collabs last year were really nice. I wish they would bring back the formula they used in the Soft and Sultry palette though. Edit: Don't feel bad about the Oden's Eye palettes. They are beautiful and you should definitely use them on camera, limited edition or not. Maybe they can be the start of a use what I have series for you 🙃

I use a Tree Hut scrub in the shower before I go get a massage, so my skin is super smooth & clean. That way it's a more pleasant experience for both of us. 😁

Great idea. I had a massage last spring, just after the end of winter and when she was doing my back, loads of skin was coming up, was kinda embarrassed. She suggested a good loofah shower afterwards

I'm definitely going to try something from Odens Eye. I'm a little bummed about the Christmas pallettes but I think I can find something I like just as much. I've seen a few videos about their shadows and they're beautiful. Considering I can't in my mind justify buying a $150 Pat McGrath pallette, I think I would feel better buying a $40 pallette and getting similar results. I know lots of people love Pat McGrath shadows but I think my husband in particular would be happier if I didn't purchase her products 😂😆.

Imho Pat McGrath is way overhyped...so many other brands out there with way cheaper prices that have great formulas. Like Glamlite for example and Odens Eye!

I've never tried Pat McGrath eye shadow, and I never will because of the prices. Ridiculous! You're just paying for the name and the hype Try a Smashbox Cover Shot palette, with 2 big base shades and 6 smaller colors, for $29. They have various color stories, including 1 all matte palette called Mattes. Or one of their 3 colors put together in 1 compact. Or the NYX eye shadows, or the Sephora single eye shadows. Ive realised, The best way to remove any glitter from the eye lids is to soak a cotton pad in remover and swipe it across the eyes first...before removing it with a balm. Balm generally tends to disperse the makeup all over the face before it removes it off. I started doing that with even regular eye shadow now and my makeup removes so much faster and I have no residue around my eyes after one wash itself. P.s. I need Moira in my country 😫

Jen, for stubborn eye makeup, let me suggest this. Apply some makeup remover to a cotton pad (preferably the reusable ones) and hold it gently, without pressure, over each eye for about 10 seconds. Then wash your face. For whatever's left, try a little bit of makeup remover or moisturizer on a cotton swab to remove it. I don't know if that would remove that glitter liner, but if you want to wear it, it's worth a try. My current favorite drugstore makeup remover is the Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water in the bottle with the pink cap that's labeled as for "all skin types, even sensitive." It doesn't contain alcohol or fragrance.(Most Garnier products are heavily fragranced.) L'Oreal made some loose colors slightly pressed with the stopper on top a couple years ago that are REALLY pretty with a good choice of colors. They are more matte or satin finish, NOT the Glittery like the Moira. I LOVE a rich burgundy brown that looks really nice on, along with a teal and a bunch of other colors. They also have an amber shimmer that is pretty. I got a bunch of colors & they LAST FOREVER.

U can a piece of metallic or glitter washi tape around the eye crayons that have shimmer for ez ID. I do this w/ eye or lip liners that are go-to's so I can grab them at a glance in a bin of many.

If you want to try some nail polish that looks like the purple shadow in the Oden’s eye pallet try K.B. Shimmer’s color Mist Me. It looks really similar. Their shade called Hidden Potential is a real shifting duo chrome that is my favorite polish of all time. I get tons of compliments every single time I wear it.

Jen, I'll always be a MIlani stan. I hear you when you say that their mattes blend away a little too easily and are hard to pack; the best I've ever done with them is a soild layer of dependable old MAC Painterly on the base and a little dampening on the brush where I want my dark shadows the darkest, plus liner and all that. (Since Milani was the only brand of decent shadow I could get where I lived out in the sticks for a few years while I was updating my makeup techniques and learning about 21st century products, I thought I just couldn't pack/blend out my shadow properly, and I made a big ol mess when I finally got my hads on some higher end products). But over the years, I've improved my technique with their shadows, and I just love their large format palettes. Their powder highlighers are a known quantity now, but I'm a huge fan of their mascaras and especially their wonderful lipsticks. Overall, I think Milani delivers bang for buck and they are easy to find, which matters with value priced makeup---savnig money is alwasy nicd, but part of the value customer's buying habits depend on convenience/instant gratification. I love that I can literally go find a shade of MIlani (or some other drugstore standard) lippie at any hour of the night. A tube of lipstick is cheaper than most other means of lifting one's mood, and it doesn't leave you with a hangover!

Those are great tips! I also have tried Painterly with them but I didn't try wetting my brush so that may help! I love most of their products but I think part of what bothers me is that they had an amazing eyeshadow formula before that was super easy to work with and now the new one takes work to get it to apply the way I want. I wish they hadn't changed a good thing!

I bought one of the Milani kits last year and I was sooo disappointed with the way it applies and lasts (ok, doesn’t last) on my eyes! Until /unless I hear about major improvements… they are a no for me. Your swatches and glowing reviews of Moira cosmetics… now there’s temptation. Thank you for your reviews!

Omg I noticed that about the shadow sticks when u were swatching them! I could tell they were just not super soft, they kinda actually LOOKED like they may be a little dry!! Wow well I mean they are great wit all their other products so that's alright!!!! Can't be perfect for EVERY SINGLE PRODUCT! THATS ALRIGHT at least we love all their other stuff!!!!!

Not totally makeup related comment but why would colour pop name their palette “send nudes”. I mean since its a more affordable brand I’m assuming it also caters to teens. With all the issues with social media these days just seems irresponsible.

Love your Sunday hauls! Not sure if the Oden's Eye palettes won't be available again (I mean, hopefully a restock soon) because if you see on their website, the no longer available palettes have a legend of "Discontinued" over the picture and these ones are marked as sold out but don't have that legend! (that's my hope! 🤞🏼). When you showed the swatches of the palette in collab with Mariale, they gave me the vibe of the Barbie palette! (maybe because the blue shade is very similar and also have some pinks and warm shades). What caught my attention were the lipsticks and the SS blushes (the pink one looks similar a Between the sheets), so maybe in my next Colourpop purchase I might include one of these products. The Moira shadow pots go also to my wishlist!

Same here! It's $.10 per bag for paper and the reusable bags can be $1-$2 depending on the type.

Odens Eye is such a fantastic brand. They and Nomad are my 2 favorite brands right now, closely followed by Colourpop.

Jen. Yeah for the girls look like they’re in through a nice of grinder. Are used to have that problem when I live north in the dark days of cold lake Alberta. Very very cold place. So here’s what I’m gonna recommend for you. Put on Aquaphor rub it into your nail bed your fingers really really well and for you I would recommend a pair of cotton gloves. I also use this stuff on my lips can’t go without it.j

Holy Cow!!!! I think my brain might explode!!! I just received my Moira order with several of the shimmer shadows but haven't had a chance to try them yet...I will use my NYX glitter glue as a base for those. Today I used one of the Target Colourpop palettes (the neutral brown one) and was very happy with the outcome. The Mariale palette hasn't arrive yet but I'm looking forward to it...Looks very pretty. I do have the Oden's Eye palettes but haven't dipped into them yet...I think tomorrow's the day! Great Video!!!!
