growing up in Florida, my grandma had a canal in the back of her house and every year manatees would swim up and down it. They would come right up to the seawall and we would feed them lettuce and give them water from the hose. They are awesome animals.

Sounds like an amazing experience. Manatees are such sweet chonkers. They're right up there with capybara in terms of chill.

As much as I *love* Manatees, you should *never* feed or give water to a manatee. It's not because it'll hurt the Manatee but because it will make it more accustomed to Humans thus making it more likely for the animal to be injured or worse from motorboats and other things.

If the manatee is already close enough to be fed idk if it matters..

Me and my friend in the 5th grade went and caught a praying mantis during recess. Took it inside and it became the class pet! Every day we would go catch grasshoppers outside then watch her eat them haha!!

Hate to inform you but grasshoppers can bite and they have a STRONG one remember there VERY closely related to locust which will straight up try (and sometimes do) eat living people

Praying Mantis are the coolest insects. They're different colors of them and some of them have the coolest camouflages. So no, I heavily disagree with the praying mantis hate. They're extremely cool. Also most animals bites including insects. Most insects however won't bite you and would rather avoid humans. I'm chill with most insects and I LOVE tarantulas. Spiders are chill as well.

one time when I was 9, a prying mantis suddenly appeared behind me on the coach. That surprised the hell out of me, that I reflexively hit it with my notebook. It was bigger than my palm too (about 4 inches in length, maybe more). it survived and ran off outside, leaving me in panic and horror... been fearing them since then XD I'm fine with giant grasshopper and cricket thou.
