Imam Nawawi wrote in his book why is it encouraged to wipe face after dua, Ibn Hajr authenticated ahadeeth that say it is sunnah, Imam Sanani also considers it to be sunnah including Hanefi and Shafi scholars...On the other hand, Ibn Taymiyah, Sheikh Albani, Abdusalam (Abdusalam actually insulted others scholars by saying:" Noone wipes his face after dua except jahil, the ignorant") are of opinion that it is not authentic therefore not sunnah. There is difference of opinion about authenticity of ahadeeth that talk about that, but these salafis are just forcing hambeli opinion, ignoring and mocking view of any other madhab or scholar who disagrees with them.

The companions used to take baraka from the Prophet Muhammad (S) himself when he does wudu/ablution & wipe their faces with the water that dribs from the him, and also rub their hand on the mimbar/sermon stage after the Prophet finishes from the saying his lecture/sermon. Sunni sources mention that hadith & describe these acts of the companions (ra), it's just that ignorance gets in the way & we dont revise our sources. May Allah bless the ummah

This act is not a biddah or something which is not permissible.. This is in the ummah through the lineage of Muhammad (saw) (Ijmah).. and moreover there is a hadith related to it in Imam Bukhari's book al adab al mufrad.. and also many scholars agree that it is not a act of bidah but sunah of nabi(saw) which is proven by the act of sahabas(ra)

Aisha (rah) narrates: "When the Prophet (pbuh) went to bed, he would blow on his hands, recite Muavvizateyn (Surahs of Falak and Nas) and Kulhuvallahu ahad, rub his hands on his face and body and repeat this three times. When he got sick, he would order me to do the same thing to him." (Bukhari, Fedâilu'l-Qur'an 14, Medicine 39, Da'avât 12; Muslim, Salam 50, (2192); Tirmidhi, Da'avât 21, (3399); Ebu Davud, Medicine 19) In the narration of Umar (ra): “When the Messenger of God raised his hands to pray, he would not let them go without putting them on his face.” (Tirmidhi, Da'avât, 11) This narration shows the legitimacy of rubbing the hands on the face after prayer. People should not accuse each other of wrongdoing on a subject where there are different opinions among scholars. There is a consensus among scholars that it is possible to act with weak hadiths in fazail-i âmal.

Raising hands while making dua after salah is not prescribed. It says in Fatawa al-Lajnah al-Daimah: “Making du’a after the obligatory prayers is not Sunnah if it is done by raising the hands, whether that is done by the imam alone or a member of the congregation alone, or it is done by them both together. Rather that is bid’ah, because it was not narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) or any of his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) did that. With regard to making du’a without doing that (raising the hands etc.), there is nothing wrong with it, because there are some ahadith concerning that.” (Fatawa al-Lajnah al-Daimah, 7/103)

Why are you calling upon prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)? Surely not to ask him for things? You should be calling upon Allah SWT when asking for anything. Calling upon anyone except Allah SWT for anything is shirk. I'm not claiming you are committing shirk without context, but I'm just letting you know.

Hence why many of our past Fuqaha ruled it as something Recommended. They will recite the Qur'an, but it wil not get past their throats, and they will pass through the deen like an arrow passes through game. Yes, you can’t! Or else it will be counted as Bida’h. Inventing/creating something new in the deen which is not there in qur’an nor any hadees proving it that the Prophet (pbuh) did is called Bid’ah. There’s a hadees in which Prophet (pbuh) says “do not bring Bida’ah is Islam as it will take you to Hell”. I don’t have the reference but it’s an strong and authentic hadith.

Ibn taymiya, albani. Are of the opinion it’s not allowed Hanifa & nawawi are of the opinion it’s allowed As a Muslim where do we go from here? The former say the hadiths are daef The latter say the hadiths are hasan maghbul What are we supposed to do? From using logic.. I can imagine someone would’ve wiped their face if they had tears from making dua The people must’ve seen this and picked up on it But what do I know Allah knows best

Action of Great Faqih Ishaq Ibn Rawiyah (RA): The great Muhadith Faqeeh Ishaq ibn Rahawayah approved action on these Ahadith as quoted by Muhammad ibn Nasr Al-Marwazi : “I saw Ishaq liking action on these Ahadith” (Qyam Al-Layl p 232) Action of Hasan Al-Basri (RA): Imam Muhammad ibn Nasr Al-Marwazi narrates from Mu’tamar that he saw Abu Ka’b Abd Rabihi ibn Ubayd Al-Azdi, the author of Tahrir, invoking raising his hands and then he was wiping them on his face after finishing. I asked him why he was doing and he answered that Hassan Al-Basri was doing this. (Qyam Al-Layl p 236) Imam Ahmad was asked about wiping hands on face in Witr and he answered : “It is narrated from Al-Hassan that he was wiping them on his face in his invocation” (Masail Imam Ahmad from narration of ibn Abdillah v 2 p 300)

Assalamu Alaikum Brother, even if you are correct don't be so concerned about how other people pray that is between them and Allah SWT. I wish you peace InshaAllah.

brother pls this is not the correct way to think. If there is addition in the religion then it becomes a bidah’ an innovation. We are not allowed to add things to the religion. It may seem harmless but the prophet (pbuh) has completed our religion already.For example If i stand on my head after every salah and recite ayatul kursi this is clearly an innovation. But according to your logic the ppl should just leave me alone because this is how i worship. Brother I hope you see my point. If one innovation is allowed, then people will bring crazier and crazier practices and no one will know what is actually sunnah. We need to have guidelines so that we can worship Allah as a solid union rather than everyone doing “what makes them feel good”. And Allah knows best.

No that's incorrect. We must strive to stay away from innovation otherwise the religion will become tainted among the masses. Educating oneself is very important and we must politely draw attention to what came from the Quran and Sunnah and not what people have introduced into the religion themselves. Never allow it to pass. Seek to correct it by first educating yourself then others (as is our Islamic duty)

@@InfernoFlame99 brother it’s a very benign thing to wipe face after Dua, no harm done with it. Just as some raise their hands or some connect their hands.

Just don't wipe your face with the hands after dua. Raising your hands and begging Allah for what you need is ok but after that just put your hands down no need to wipe your face with them
@NicholasDhruboDas Жыл бұрын
can you say ameen after dua?
@letthesunnahgoforth Жыл бұрын
The Prophet ﷺ never said Ameen after he's dua as far as I know. but it's permissible kzbin.info/www/bejne/fp-TXqCZa7WSkNE
