While I'm ranting, I also wish that you could have a guest party member for online so I don't have to worry about wasting affinity with low level people. I want to hire people's avatars, but it's so annoying to have to grind with party members to reach affinity, missions or combat. Maybe I just need to rethink it like you did with the jump button. Yeah, I'll grind for a little bit with characters, and hire someone every now and then. Sorry for the rant, btw. Edit: also thanks for the advice. Helped me rethink the way I play the game. This game did Skells right. If you could fly from the start, or even with the first skell, you wouldn't get this sense of having earned to ability to go anywhere and do anything. Almost makes me wish the flight module was optional. Would have felt even more special.

Honestly. If they have given flight from the begining too the world wouldn't have felt as massive as it actually is. The skells are huge, and they make the world feel smaller. When you're actually on the ground running around, the world feels absolutely enormous, and I love that. They give you the Skells at just the right time, they let you feel how puny you are for a while.

The team then went on to develop games with namco as publisher. Baten kaitos 1 (and 2 i believe but it never came out in europe), a game called Soma something that i'm not sure left japan, project cross zone 1 and 2 and the Xenosaga series. The Xenoblade games were not even close to being their first games, but they were their first ones under Nintendo.

Saw the trailer of the first game's remake from the Direct and am now on a Xenoblade ost binge. Came here because I remembered How it felt when I flew in this game for the first time. It was so overwhelming, so beautiful... I remember I almost cried. I'm usually not emotional with stuff like this. I mean, I can tear up with a good emotional story, but for gameplay to hit me like this did...
