The saddest thing is he is found literally right next to Quelana, this happened because he actually only has +8 Pyromancy and Quelana is seen only to those with +10, he went Hollow because he couldn't find Quelana who was literally right next to him the entire time
@alanbastos97669 ай бұрын
Quelana has that pyromancy, the one who can control hollows minds You can use it to have enemy hollows in your side Maybe quelaana use it whit he (Sorry bad english)

You know what's even sadder? The fact that he could've managed to get a +10 pyromancy flame if he didn't stay in firelink shrine, instead he helped us achieve a dream that was once his.

I think the biggest tragedy is from our perspective, he really can succeed. He's only 2 ranks of pyromancy flame away, he found her spot, he's certaintly capable, but from him all he could see with our own mastery of pyromancy and quelana not appearing is that he wasn't good enough.

The extra sad thing is if you tell him "No", which stops him leaving and going hollow, he clearly feels hurt, even betrayed. Like "I thought we were friends".

its sad that the only way you can save npcs is from not taking their quests. everything you interact with decays
@Greywander87 Жыл бұрын
I feel like it should be the opposite. Failing to do an NPC's questline should end with them going hollow, but doing their quest saves them. Although, I kind of don't like having hidden fail conditions (e.g. how Yoel will be dead when you return to Firelink if you enter the Catacombs in DS3). Maybe it's intentional, though; the Chosen Undead is sent on a mission to link the fire, something that in itself causes decay, as is seen in how the world of DS3 turns out. I think what I'd prefer is for NPC quests to have multiple paths with different endings, and the rewards are always the same either way. I hate being force to get a bad ending to not miss an item or something. Maybe some endings would delay getting an item, but you'd still get it eventually (e.g. how you can kill Lautrec early for FaP ring).
@OKMBVideos9 ай бұрын
@Greywander87 it's because you're fulfilling their purposes, and without purpose, an Undead goes Hollow. When purpose remains unfulfilled, there is a yearning for it that staves off Hollowing. This is also likely why none of the player characters truly ever go Hollow, as they have a purpose to fulfill. There is no saving people from Hollowing, truly. Humanity is a limited substance and if purpose is fulfilled, then they go Hollow anyway.

Same here. I first played this Game back on 2/27/2014. Note: I just checked my Achievements, and that is when I first got the Estus Flask in the Game. I felt like absolute crap at the time due to extreme Gas Lighting, and several betrayals that I had experienced... Sadly they were not the last, and I have experienced a lot more, and far worse since then... But, I digress. This franchise gave me Strength, and taught me to fight against impossible odds! Or really all Sh!^ thrown at me! I beat the first Game in 2015 as well as the second, and the third in 2016. I then went, and played Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and a Plethora of other Challenging Games. Later that year I started training through VR to fight Fear itself once I got an HTC VIVE. I played Arizona Sunshine, Brookhaven Experiment, Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion, this Horror Game, that Horror Game Etc... The most recent one I have been playing in VR is Resident Evil 2: Remake through Praydogs VR Mod. I bought Resident Evil 3: Remake as well, and plan on playing that in VR once I am done with the other. Just to give you an idea on how Bad the Gas Lighting was with some of these people they tried talking me into killing myself... They were incredibly manipulative... Note: I am no longer in contact with these individuals, and they are kicked out of my life. Since they tried this Sh!^ with me I have made a vow to never off my self because it would ultimately give them what they wanted. I also started watching Berserk, and doing other things to push myself forward! If you ever feel down go listen to the song Get Up by All Good Things. Post Script: That being said I also found Jesus. Something I noticed is that most people claiming to be Christians are not... Possibly around 90% of them... They are making Flesh their Arm, and putting their Faith & Trust in Man/Religion. The Gospel is simple John 6:40. It is not about Stopping Sinning, Repenting, etc... It is all about Jesus. He paid it in full. There is nothing we can do ourselves except for only one thing. That is accepting the Free Gift of Salvation! It is a Free Gift so that no one shall boast. So call upon the name of Jesus if you have not already!

After playing Elden Ring and Sekiro I was willing to check out the older games and decided to get Dark Souls on Steam. Having played the other two games I was familiar with the heartbreak that they present, yet I was blissfully unaware as I saved this poor pyromancer from some barrels. He sold me a few pyromancy spells that came in handy from time to time, and though they were a bit situational I found them to be fun to use. Eventually when he said he was going to Blight Town, I had a nagging voice in my head which was anticipating some unfortunate event that would happen in that hell hole. But I still decided to traverse down to the swamp to look for him. I saw someone in the pyromancer garb across the swamp and I immediately rushed over to talk to him. But when I got there I was inevitably attacked. At first I assumed that this was some random other guy that spawned for some reason. I was sure that this guy who helped me out a fair bit in the early game wouldn't just randomly attack me for no reason. But as I parried him, finally knocking off the last portion of his health bar, I came to the realization that I had murdered an ally, a close and friendly one, who aided me in this bleak world. Maybe it was because I got a semi good look at his face, or I realized that a random non-respawning npc wouldn't just randomly spawn in this area, but for some reason I just knew that I had killed him. This was my first experience dealing with a friend turned hollow, devoid of purpose and life. He was not a difficult encounter in terms of combat, but definitely hard on my emotions. Dark Souls emersed me with fun gameplay, a sublime world, and wonderful music. Only to bite me in the ass once I had truly grown attached to the few people who guided me in this horrible, violent, rotting world. A gaming experience that I will never forget, these games are truly pieces of art.

spoliopes you can save solaire with incredible effort or a little ingenuity by killing the critter that makes him go insane before his quest gets him there, and he'll help you during the final boss, but he ends up confused and despondent the final time you speak with him. I'm not a lore expert but I think he gains a massive following, in DSII at least lightning spear describes the former leader, whose name was lost to time, but was best described as a "grossly incandescent" "magnificent father". Those are Solaire's personal words, his actions end up inspiring countless others into devotion for the sun. That being said DS Lore, especially between I and II, is messy, but to me sounds like he did alright afterwards

I see that there's no point by letting him go hollow and then kill him. We got nothing from him except souls that also aren't that much. So i always say "no" when he asked about the chaos pyromancy so he could stay alive.

When i started playing dark souls i was going through having witnessed a man blow his brains out in front of me and him dying in my arms as i tried to save what little life was left, felt like i could never be the same again, but playing this game made me realize i couldn’t and wouldn’t give up, and slowly but surely im getting back to my old self, I won’t forget what happened but i can make sure it doesnt happen again, i wont let anyone else go hollow again.

started playing dark souls this week and after meeting him and saving him, he's a rather odd one but friendly. then suddenly he stopped appearing at firelink shrine after my last dialogue with him regarding that pyromancy, went to blight town and encountered a new enemy that went aggro on me. I wasn't able to take a look at him properly because I was being chased by three to four enemies at the time, but I always had a hunch that the person that I slained might had been him since he suddenly stopped appearing. Now this video confirms that and I'm a bit sad losing a friend in dark souls.

Oh for fucks sake how many times am i goona be reminded of my favorite ds1 character and his fate if you tell him about the pyromancy?!!! Any, and i mean ANY words i use are infathomably insufficient for how I feel right now; like i'm not okay...im not okay and im never gonna be okay about the fact that a video game character rips my heart out like this

Damn this spoke to me on a spiritual level. I may give the dark souls games a try. I played sekiro and elden ring but never really played those that were before it.

Honestly Dark Souls 1 is my favourite, the gameplay and combat isn't the best, but the story telling and atmosphere are leagues above the other games, in my opinion.

I just started playing it yesterday. It's a tough but interesting game. There's so many different ways to go about everything. I've only just gotten to the third "level" if you can call it that. My favorite npc I've encountered is Solaris. He's so optimistic and friendly. And his cheer, which you can find written in the ground, is wonderful. Praise the Sun \[T]/
