The two best string bands EVER. Wonder where John McKuen was? Don't see him onstage at all, but there's Randy Scruggs--I just KNEW that was his lead picking. So cool to see a performance of the very recording we have and realize my guess was right! Thanks so much for posting this!

LOVE this song, haven’t thought of it in ages. And I’ve never seen the New Grass boys at this stage in their careers, a real treat.

jq, you've got nothing to apologize for, it's just nice that you have the VHS of it. I saw New Grass Revival live about this period and it's great to relive that memory.

So sad to have to add "the late-great" to Randy Scruggs at 1:59 here. Died just 6 years after his father Earl.

At the time this was the "younger" generation of pickers. Thank God for all of them! Randy, Bela, Sam and Pat. They all rock!

I could never understand the lyrics as a kid but now that I'm older I still don't understand. According to my Dad, "Jerusalem Moan"ed when they realized they killed the messiah and know they're going to hell for it. This beat is a lot of fun but those lyrics seem to be (essentially) mocking people in a "Haha, you're going to hell and we're not" -kinda way. Am I misunderstanding something here?

Folks talk about rock guitar players, but few of them can keep up with Pat Flynn and Randy Scruggs. Think you're good? Try it on an acoustic!
