The genes were passed in...period! Just a gorgeous and haunting song. Performed flawlessly by the two boys. I would have paid for tickets just for this song alone. The chorus could have been harmonized but would not have the same emotional moat as done in unison.

11 years ago today, as FacePlant reminds me, I watched this vid for the first time. "You know that I'm no failure though my victories are few; I'm tryin my best but, there's too much here to do." Frankly, and unfortunately, as I've gotten older I think our "victories" need to be measured differently and a little more frequently than they used to be, depending on the 'season' we're in. The harmonies, picking, strumming, sliding, haunting diverse musicalities, and the lyrics of this song just grip me every time....❤ beautiful 💝! This is a good rendition of my favorite song on The Scruggs Brothers album from 1972. I saw Gary and Randy play live around that time. I can't believe they're both gone now.
