Honestly, any time the concept of god is taken for reality has terrifying implications: imagine being in the ancient Fertile Crescent where tribes thought they were playing a life-and-death game of POPULOUS, walking around with actual literal gods for each nation that maybe you could carry in a box into battle and would make volcanoes burn your enemies if you chopped off a bit of your wiener and fed it to them. Living in that world must have been maddeningly disconcerting.

Awesome animation! Btw, the original audio is not by Captain Murphy, he only sampled it for his album. The original audio is from “Mind Control Made Easy” by Carey Burtt; both the vocal and music are from that short film. Lots of people tend to miscredit it, and if Captain Murphy altered the audio at all I wouldn’t make the distinction, but he didn’t really, so I feel it’s important the original creators are credited.

I actually did make a weird cult thing once. It was in fourth grade, it was called the "Anything Cult".
