OH MY GOD! I GET IT! I HAD A HUGE REALIZATION AT THE END!!! They’re in a relationship that’s abusive, constantly. Constant problems I’m guessing, maybe manipulative. But through all of the extreme emotional (possibly physical) torture they go through, they’re too much of a forgiving person to get truly angry or leave. This results in them giving more than they have, hurting themselves in the process. They give their partner everything they have just for them to give nothing in return. I hate that I know people like that.

Even tho this is about cannibalism (or just seems to be), I also see it as how the victim is letting the people they love take pieces of them until they can’t take it anymore. Like “a bite of my eye? Alright, I won’t put up a fight” may be a metaphor for, “you want to chip away at me/break me down? Alright, I won’t put up a fight.” Then to “but for today how about you try eating someone else for a change, because the way things are going I won’t last another day” could be, “but for today could you stop hurting me, because the way I’m declining I won’t make it another day” (referring to mental health) Like a toxic relationship. That’s just how I thought it could mean. Like if someone found out you listened to this song and they’re concerned you could be like “NO ITS A METAPHOR” lol Either way I fucking love this song and the art style. As much as I want to agree, I want to point out that intersection is practically inevitable, especially when one of the artists has such an expansive catalogue in so many different styles. Jack has more styles in a single album than some singers have in their entire career. This song in particular I could literally imagine Jack's voice singing, because it's in the vein of songs like Mr. Backwards and Cooking with Abigail. But they're only similar in this one song. I can't imagine Jack singing People Eater or Hansel without drastically changing it, and I can't imagine sodikken singing $4.99 or At The Store without drastically changing it either. So really, I think it's perfectly fine to point out 'hey, I could reasonably see Jack singing this track', just as long as one realizes that both sodikken and Jack have distinct styles otherwise.

Got theories here:1 The victim themselves could be suicidal. Some people feel like they aren't important or unwanted, maybe they think they're useless and worthless, So nobody would care if they died and what they want is to be of use, so before they are willingly letting the person do what they want with them, so they could be 'useful'. Some lines here also say that they may want to continue living, but if you look at the illustration here, it's too late for that. But if it's the lyrics then they may have survived(not sure, still don't quite get it), they are most likely to have Stockholm Syndrome or so. 2: I have read comments and some say they could have been a victim of toxic relationships, r*** victims, or an experimented victim. Since it is clearly mentioned that they are doing this willingly, it could be a toxic relationship. And r*** victims could they were being 'eaten' as a metaphor. The illustrations and lyrics both here just makes up itself for the last theory. 3: This one is a bit crazy but I'll try to make it to sense. The victim itself could be the one who did this. They may have been struggling for a long and to cooperate they make up a 'person'. So they can convince themselves that they were useful to someone. And during some part of this, they could be coming to their senses when they want to live. It's kind of the same as the first theory, I know. But I got to say amazing video and song! Your illustrations were so good!

If you think about it, you can be like a very abusive/ manipulative relationshio, like you want a taste of my brain as in like you want to hear my thoughts? Then its yours anyways being they control what they think anyways etc. And the way things are going i wont last another day being they are sick and tired of this but cant do anything and will collapse under the pressure. And torment and etc is explainable And you wont hear me say in tired of living because although it sucks, there are people who support and love them. I mean like, 😧 i may be completely off and like just its not even close to a valid theory but i mean-

This song's lyrics feels like it's the POV of both sides of an abusive relationship. I absolutely love how this sounds so effortlessly like someone experiencing blood loss. This song has a comforting yet unique catch to it. Sounds like a description of the story of an animated character.

Two songs using cannibalism as a metaphor for an abusive relationship, pretty cool.
@lovelygutz13043 жыл бұрын
This song kinda reminds me of the relationship I was in with my ex, he expected support, love and everything from me whenever he came to me with his problems, which is exactly what I gave him. But whenever I came to him with my problems he ignored me, he'd tell me to get over it and that it wasn't a big deal. He even told me to unalive myself once.. But since I was extremely forgiving I stayed with him anyways even though the relationship was eating at me and he was taking and gaining from me while I was losing and dying. Luckily I had a really close friend who I talked to about this and she told me basically "No. I'm not allowing that. You either break up with him or I'll do it for you." so I did. A month later he texted me and was like "Hey... I'm sorry for what I did to you and I would really like to build a relationship again.." stupidly I said yes. Shortly after I realized that he didn't change at all and I blocked him on everything. I'm still best friends with the person who convinced me to end it and I haven't talked to my ex since, I'm a lot happier now and I feel like I've finally found someone better than him, currently we're just friends but that's enough for me. He genuinely makes me happy and makes me feel loved and it's just feels amazing :)

I can’t believe the amount of times I have listened to this song in the past 24 hours, I can’t believe how insanely I relate to it, to me this feels like all my past toxic relationships, I feel like I have literally gave people my brain and my heart and it felt as if at times my heart was being eaten away. This song is such a beautiful metaphor on so many different aspects of literal things I have experienced. And the tone of the song not matching the lyrics is the perfect juxtaposition to me, it makes me feel at peace with things. re listening to the lyrics and over analyzing the song is just therapeutic to me call me crazy but this song has changed my mood

Honestly this song really reminds me of myself and something that happened a few months back From the forgiving victim’s perspective, you don’t know you’re being manipulative. I felt like I could endlessly help this someone and give them advice with no problem, but it grew to hurt me. There were nights where I just told them to go to someone else and of course they went straight back to me. Whenever they caused a problem they just made themselves seem like the victim, especially when I was the one to talk to them. Of course I cut ties with them after a couple friends figured out what was happening but I’m still tired. This song really encapsulates what it’s like to be within a manipulative relationship that you feel you cannot leave. I applaud you for the message and great use of changing medias ranging from sculpting to drawing and just the overall feel. Amazing job.

Did anyone notice that in the end you seen hands and legs and in the video people eater you seen the lyrics saying “I can feed you your own hands and meat” that’s a connection so I’m thinking the part when it says “I’m baffled why you choose to stay with me” and in misery meat it says “I’m tired of living” so yeah I think misery meat is the person getting eaten and people eater is the person EATING the other, so these two videos are either about Toxic relationships or just cannibalism

the mention of being forgiving at the end is a double entendre, as the person is both demonstrated to be forgiving through the lyrics and is convinced, whether through their own thoughts or the influence of who they're singing about, that their body--their very self--is _for giving_
@icarus43023 ай бұрын
Much as I love all the theories, and some have more evidence than others, I love relatiny this song to my own feelings of masking. The upbeat voice and tune despite the dark lyrics, the undertones of abuse/toxicity that often causes mental issues or triggers them in the first place, the vulnerability of re-victimization, the feelings of empathy to the point you show none to yourself, so much more. It's amazing how creative people can create a metaphor than can mean so much to so many people, just because they made it have a catchy tune or voice. It gives voice to those things, even if they use a unique verbage to voice it.
