not sure how it took me 10 yrs to find this, but it's cool to see how the techniques that work are pretty universal. like the scissoring technique from the cut to the face is prevalent in the Filipino systems, and stopping the arm with the knife and shaving off some meat is in another modernized system, I was a student of.

Don Vito looks like an unassuming guy on the street but imagine the look of surprise on the face of the first homeboy to flick out a knife and demand all Don's valuables...

Vito Quattrocchi So you know how to pronounce it and still don't pronounce correctly

You noticed that too. He's no Italian, he's one of those ignorant New York goomba types.

Maybe Antonio Mele is not Italian, but I am: It's hardly believable someone who cannot even write in correct italian in his website can actually teach a traditional italian art, not resembling the style, posture and techniques actually (or once) used in any area of Sicily. I cannot find in any heraldic archive the coat of arms shown in the website, the ancient picture showing two men in a knife duel are roman "bulli" in a painting of around '800, not even a sicilian painting, and this thing of bestowing the title of "cavalieri di San Michele" is the equivalent of using the title of "samurai of Buddha": ridiculous for italians and offensive for a religious people.

@Robert Leruyet you have no idea about it probably because you didn't check the website page of Mr Quattrocchi at cimande.com, you can't understand my comment maybe because my English isn't very good or because you don't know much about my nation, traditions nor our language (la Cosa Nostra is grammarly correct and proper Italian, so don't add "is said" notions while talking with someone who actually live in it). That's what I'm babbling about.
@Cisco88C4 жыл бұрын
@Robert Leruyet I'm beginning to think you can't read....I said in my precedent comments he's not believable because he cannot write in correct italian in his webpage (along with many other things) and posted the link! I'm not saying I don't believe his name is pronunced in that way in America, or denying many names in america have been modified in all this time. I'm telling by italian citizen that nothing this person does, says or teches is italian.

This first comment is clearly by someone who doesn't understand martial arts the reason you train for several hours five or six days a week it's so that when that situation Once In A Million happens everything you do is second nature and instinctual so the guy in the video has been practicing everyday for hours each day for most of his life and that's why his reaction will be second nature.

Immigrants - They also call the famous composer "Man see ni" and not the proper way you pronounce Mancini in Italian. That is what happened to a lot of names over there.

Way too close. Ever try to grab a bloody wrist/forearm/fingers and maintain any control? Very slippery. You cant grab. Then you are thinking about that and not other things. Dicking around with wrist holds with one hand while a knife is in the other is placing the brain in a place of two concentrations instead of one. Distance and a end-of-reach parry hand to get the other knife pointed away. Then close in fast and immediately create space again. Always space.

it's easy to show tricks when u are being attacked by dead standing Big Ben. what will u do when attacker quickly steps forward - thrusts - steps back? quick fake thrust to the neck/face followed by thrust to the stomach/legs.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GUY!!!!!! ive faught knives with someone once, i pulled out mine to scare him not knowing he had one ready to go in his pocket as well WHAT ARE THE FUCKEN ODDS!!!! i then did the basics and so did he (slashing) he cut my chest once pretty good and i got the space between his eye and mouth. a knife fight happens way to quick to do anything hes showing u. only usefull thing is the move where he slices the guys arm when he lunges at you, and most people dont try to stab they try to slash!!! u try anything in this video and ur gonna regret it... (thats even if u remember to try any techniques while in that situation) u can take all the self defense classes u want but if u get scared when the moment arisses your not going to know what to do. your going to freeze up and swing for the hills. i see it all the time with fights... that being said even if u do, a fight happens so fast alot of the time u dont have time to think, just react. plus if u think u can fight someone and NOT get hit... your an idiot... atleast 80% of fights involve both people getting hit... if u cant take a shot to the face your gonna buckle and when u buckle the other person has time to folllow up that punch and kick your ass.

hunter march I would have to agree with you there Hunter, I was in more than one knife fight in my teens and it is over in seconds sometimes chopping down quickly whilst moving back will save you if you want to be defensive, other times some one will hold it down low right next to their hip and lunge at you, I personally would fight with a knife facing downwards and stab for the neck or shoulder and stay well back from the other guy until you know your strike can't fail, you usually only get one chance. I did get a surprise once in the lower stomach from a guy that simply pulled it out and slashed my guts before running off, I never even saw it coming. Like I said its over in seconds...

I think is wrong letting your opponent to use the whole strength of the hit before you try to stop/deflect it. I think it's always advisable to intercept the opponent's hit at the middle of his movement. In fact, even in a demonstration like this the opponent has easily been able to slash Quattrocchi's nose (1:45). Because at that point the hit is too strong to be stopped by a single hand or blade. Ok, maybe you can cut his wrist, but your face is fucked. Sorry for my english.

Don Vito's opponent is literally fighting with one hand behind his back. I think I prefer to hold it my knives boxing style and make anyone who decides to try me appear as though they had a bad case of acne. Nonsense! I actually have zero interest in getting in my fights.
