I had a sit down with Don West about a year ago for a career paper in Wenatchee and he said this was one of his favorite moments in TNA while working there. He said he and Mike went over this before the show and thought it was gold and couldn't wait for it to happen. Don is a class act and really cool guy.

As cliché as the "Color commentator turns heel & leaves the color commentary table" deal is & as much of a rip-off/copy this was when Joey Styles turned heel & left the 'WWE RAW' color commentary team in mid-2006, I can see why people didn't really buy into this. Regardless of all of that, I still give Don West "Kudos!" for going out there & putting on as best a performance as possible. I remember watching this episode of 'TNA Impact' as if it were literally yesterday & although TNA wasn't putting out the best story-lines/etc. in early-2009, you could still find something else to look at & watch. R.I.P., Don West.
