Why shouldn't he?...He was talking about his book and it was in his book..He's been getting abuse for over 7 years about it from twats from K'kenny and Tipp and has talked about being gay once in public?..And you have an issue with it?...It's part of HIS LIFE so he should talk about it,same as people talk about their wives/gfriends..

Well by Donal og coming out he has shown people it is okay to be gay and play GAA/sport and the has given LGBT a role model with a sporting back round to look up to.

I have aways had great respect for Donal, even more so now. A great man, lets hope this changes some of the more backward opinions in the country, unfortunatly I think we have some time to go. Go the GPA also.

With the exception of the bigoted commentary here, I find the way you Irish express yourselves rather cute. Same goes for the interviewer and Donal. You folks have such an easy charm about you. Some of the remarks made here made me laugh out loud. Especially the ones that put down bigoted posters.

What differece does it make to anyone if he's gay or straight?...It's his business,no one elses...He's a legend and a great goalie...Played in 5 all irelands in 8 years...Would people rather their team had 15 gay players and won an all ireland or had 15 straight players and won nothing?.Answer that idiots...

@houlhersteady In muslim society maybe but not in 21st centuary Ireland. People need to stop being so one-dimentional and closed minded. It's how one is born,it's not a choice and is unchangable..it could just as easily be you or me. And a figure poll actually does prove homosexuality to be generally accepted across Europe. To regard it as a crime is incredibly ignorant and laughable.
