Because of Donald Glover's work with Derrick Comedy and 30 Rock, his casting was the main reason I tuned in for the series premiere. Glad he was casted because Community quickly became a personal favorite outside of only Donald Glover. 6 seasons later, and years after, just hoping things align so that everyone needed can come together for the movie.

Troy didn't make this show. Donald Glover did. he acted this character so well. all the other actors are great, but they have a consistency that makes them less dynamic in comparison to Troy. I rewatch it a lot and his character is easily the most lively in the group. I would say the only character comparable to Troy in that sense would be Chang, but they really destroyed chang after season 2. or the Dean - which seriously, Jim Rash doesn't get enough credit. let's be real.
